I agree actually. I think he knows he has written himself into an arc leading to the end but he doesn't like that everyone already figured out the gist of how the end is going to play out (show didn't help, but that's his own fault for letting it catch up). Now he is trying to figure out how to put in some twists that wouldn't be totally out of place or counter to what he has already written and is stuck. That's what happens when you give nerds years between books to analysis every word you wrote though. But this is a topic for another nerd thread.
I really lack the detail retention a lot of you guys have in this thread, so I watched a big clone wars arc over the last couple days to remind me of all the shit I probably ought to know before "darksaber" Sure, it's about 6 hours worth of time, but it's some really good clone wars episodes for folks who don't want to watch the whole series. You could even pare it down to the first and last 3 episodes if all you care about is the current situation on Mandalore. Personally, I love star wars the most when it feels like a legitimate history, from a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away. I'm a complete sucker for stories that feel like I'm learning some snippet from the past that helps me fill in some gap I didn't know about in this vast universe. I know it's fiction being created in the here and now, but it's at its best when it feels like the story of events long ago determined. This sequence of clone wars just happens to be relevant to any Rebels watchers if they wanted some more backstory without having to slog through the entirety of Clone wars. Spoiler The Mandalore Plot s2e12 Voyage of Temptation s2e13 Duchess of Mandalore S2E14 Night Sisters s3e12 Monster S3e13 Witches of the Mist s3e14 Heroes on both Sides s3e10 Corruption s3e5 The Academy s3e6 A Friend in Need s4e14 Massacre s4e19 Brothers s4e21 Revenge s4e22 Revival s5e1 Eminence s5e14 Shades of Reason s5e15 The Lawless s5e16
Last week when I was bored at work, I thought about putting a list of Clone Wars arcs together than people should watch, that dont want to watch the entire series. Like the Onderon arc for Saw All the Mandelorian arcs Ahsoka's arcs towars the end ect But then I got lazy and didn't
That whole dathomir arc is actually in those 17 episodes I watched... I'd love a compilation of all the Cad Bane episodes, or maybe one that followed all the academy clones till they're all dead. Would be a bit like Twilight company in cartoon form
I think it was just a single episode as opposed to an arc, but the episode on Mortis was amazing (Father/Son/Daughter).
Playing Disney infinity with my kid. In one of the parts jar jar has to help you. I said so many bad things about jar jar during it my kid hates him now.
Can't wait to watch it tomorrow. Probably going to watch that TCW block that was posted a couple days ago too.
About the darksaber? Not really all that necessary. They gave like a two line rundown of TCW history with it but there's more added outside of TCW.
Official info about upcoming Thrawn novel. Spoiling because synopsis is rather long. Spoiler http://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/223651/thrawn-star-wars-by-timothy-zahn/ After Thrawn is rescued from exile by Imperial soldiers, his deadly ingenuity and keen tactical abilities swiftly capture the attention of Emperor Palpatine. And just as quickly, Thrawn proves to be as indispensable to the Empire as he is ambitious; as devoted as its most loyal servant, Darth Vader; and a brilliant warrior never to be underestimated. On missions to rout smugglers, snare spies, and defeat pirates, he triumphs time and again—even as his renegade methods infuriate superiors while inspiring ever greater admiration from the Empire. As one promotion follows another in his rapid ascension to greater power, he schools his trusted aide, Ensign Eli Vanto, in the arts of combat and leadership, and the secrets of claiming victory. But even though Thrawn dominates the battlefield, he has much to learn in the arena of politics where ruthless administrator Arihnda Pryce holds the power to be a potent ally or a brutal enemy. All these lessons will be put to the ultimate test when Thrawn rises to admiral—and must pit all the knowledge, instincts, and battle forces at his command against an insurgent uprising that threatens not only innocent lives but also the Empire’s grip on the galaxy—and his own carefully laid plans for future ascendancy.
Don't hold your breath. This isn't George making the prequels. They are not going to introduce a random blue bad guy to the audience. For the general public, it would be Count Dooku and General Grievous all over again.
No, 7 more. Just the 2 next ones have titles announced: "Legacy of Mandalore" and "Through Imperial Eyes"
Random thought... Any thoughts to Maz's comment to Finn about if you live long enough you see the same eyes in different people. Any chance he ends up tying back to someone from the original trilogy or the prequels. The racially obvious choice would be Lando, but...
No, I've heard this before and I just think people are looking too much into that line. It's more of a throwaway line to get her to talk to Finn about running.
Making Finn's parents important would be contrived as hell to me. Prequel level unnecessary connection. It'd be like making Han or Chewie's familial connections important.
next couple eps are just going to be finding out all the little bastards the jedi left sprinkled around the galaxy.
