These grievances need to breathe, baby
Acshually, the official novelization of RotS says he has no need to breathe.
Come on bigpig, you know that will never be the case in the fandom. We got the trilogy we got because of the complaining after TFA
True. I'd ammend that and say the complaints would taper off as the years go by. A properly done part three could have brought the trilogy to a nice thematic close. If it had, fans—years from now—when the hysteria has died down, and the movies have become a codified part of fandom, could have examined this trilogy for the three-part story it was. Instead, tainted by the ending, this trilogy will forever be seen for the three-part story it wasn’t.
The Last Jedi
The Rise of Skywalker
Everyone should stop complaining, because as long as JJ never goes near this franchise or any other sci fi franchise as well that alone is a big victory for all of us.
He's a hack, he's always been a fucking hack. He can make the stuff look pretty but he sucks ass at storytelling and character development. That mystery box shit he does is fucking garbage.
I hear he's looking at ruining Super Man next.
"They fly now?" is a running joke in my family
this is the least surprising thing to me of the whole sequels but you can’t convince me that
1. he didn’t love the shit out of hammill, Mayhew, and fisher
2. he didn’t love George Lucas and the movies because otherwise why the fuck would he do them
The thing I didn’t like was even after his father had been corrupted for years by the Emperor, he never gave up on him and refused to kill him. But his best friend and sisters kid he’s ready to murder before Ben is even fully turned?
And I get there are excuses that can be made there. He was scared of history repeating itself, couldn’t risk it, just doesn’t work for me. Not hating on TLJ.
Except for Rose. She sucked.
This has been my feeling. I'm just not buying that Luke thought for even a second to kill his nephew while he slept because he sensed some darkness in him.
One of the best things about Star Wars has always been Harrison ford not giving a single fuck about Star Wars nerds and just shitting all over their nerd questions
Last night in my journey through the NJO reached one of my favorite moments. Corran Horn challenging Shedao Shai for Ithor.
Jesus Christ.... Why would anyone give him work after the abomination that was ROTS
The last good Superman movie was released in 1980. 4 decades of total shit makes it impossible for any one man to ruin that franchise.
JJ will try his hardest, ROTS is a good indication he has the ability.
He can like his old colleagues and a fuck ton of money and also not like sci-fi lore and get annoyed at dumb ass fan theories at the same time.
Santa brought my kid the lego set with Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, 2 ‘Rodger Rodger’ droids, and a droid tank. We’re building Ahsoka than worshipping her as she deserves.
That took a minute to get but when I did it was pretty great
Still don’t get it

How many are excited about a Rogue Squadron movie vs How many are excited about Patty Jenkins directing a Star Wars movie that happens to be Rogue Squadron?
There really is nothing in her filmography that seems right for a movie like this and I suspect that 99.9% of the hype is purely based on the sub-franchise in question, not the director.
I’d be pretty excited for any Star Wars movie she did.
Another of my close friends shared the same sentiments when the movie was announced.
Don’t be weird
Can't say I've seen much of hers that impressed me. She uses far too much slow motion in the Wonder Woman films. The only good movie she has done was Monster and that was 20 years ago and nothing like a Star Wars movie.
After seeing WW84, I am prepared to be
Ive only seen 2 things she made. Both WW. First one was really good. WW84 was really meh. The concept of a Top Gun Star Wars movies sounds pretty cool to me, so I choose to be optimistic
Let’s be honest: even a solid 6/10 SW movie we’re all gonna be in the tank for anyway
Episode 8 was a 6/10 and we by rule must argue about it every three weeks
the promo she did was very good. seems like something she’s passionate about. I’m really looking forward to it.
that's a mighty generous curve.
tfw when tlj discourse pops up again but you no longer care
Much like setting a line for a football game to draw in both sides, I think bwi2 nailed it with the 6/10
Did it bother anyone else that Luke supposedly sacrificed his life by getting killed on that salt planet, but wait no it was actually a projection and he’s sitting on the rock, but wait no now he’s going to die anyway even though he wasn’t actually there.
like what was the point of him not actually being there?
He was pretty obviously buying them time and bought more time by being a projection than he would’ve if he’d just tried to take on the First Order in combat
He’s an old man, wise with knowledge of the Force that goes beyond being good with a lightsaber. It played well (for me) considering where he’s at in life and also how it fucked with amateur ass Kylo.
now, whether force projecting like that should kill you? That’s just a choice they made. Think it may have been smart in hindsight to give us some breadcrumbs on the island that he was old, like near-death old, or in poor health. Would help the effort required to project and the sacrifice for the good of the rebellion both play a little better
god I’m getting fucking sucked in
1. kylo referenced it earlier in the initial force Skype with Rey “you’re not doing this, the effort would kill you”
2. I believe rian or Mark or some LFL nerd equated it with someone who went sober for a while then had a really bad relapse and OD’d. Given that he not only projected himself but a younger version with entirely different clothing and lightsaber, and it’s a long time ago in a galaxy far far away and it’s all fun fantasy, sure why not
I’m going to bed
doing this again huh
Mandalorian and the announcement for all the new Disney+ series got me to start watching Clone Wars. I'm on season 2. I'll probably get into Rebels after that, too. I've never seen either.
Do I watch Clone Wars all the way through before Rebels? Or does s7 of Clone Wars happen after Rebels?
you fucked up by not watching it in order
You lucky, beautiful, chronological son of a bitch
Clone Wars 100%
Clone wars then rebels
