I’m a sleepy asshole but it still puts me to sleep every episode. I will catch back up to it on a weekend midday while I chug coffee spiked with Red Bull and meth.
Have you watched them all and felt that way? Or just couldn't get through the early ones? The first two episodes were rough for me and I would have bailed at some point if that's all the series was, but episode three and beyond have been great, IMO. It's definitely a slower burn than most of the Star Wars and MCU D+ shows to date, though. Not as action packed with a "new adventure every week type of feel" like many of them have been
The tension of the heist episode was enough to keep me engaged. I have nothing against the show. I will love it in time.
I love how every new show makes me want another spinoff from that. Like now after Andor, I want a spinoff that shows how Kino becomes Snoke over the next 30 years
She was fired for having shit ideas for Wonder Woman, so of course Kathy Kennedy is ready to fast-track her ideas for a new Star War.
My 9 yr old daughter is going to be so excited! She's watched S1 at least 5 times through. It still amazes me that she got into Star Wars all on her own simply by us leaving her unattended with a TV logged in to Disney+
Can’t remember which nerd cast it was but here’s a theory I heard that never clicked with me while watching. During the 2nd Jedi short with Ahsoka, Anakin was so insistent on her being able to defend herself from the clones because as he was turning he could foresee the downfall of the Jedi. It shows both his sides, the deep compassion he had for those he loved but also the self-centered egocentric side that would eventually take over.
Might be because I’ve had some drinks too, but this one got me. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CmS9S16tyPL/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Bad Batch is fine, but it does seem like all the episodes are pretty much the same and too centered around Omega.
I love Grogu, everybody loves Grogu, and I'm undoubtedly excited about the new season...but...he needs to do more than be carried around and make cute noises and faces this season. He needs to be more than a Macguffin. They started to do that with Luke and the training, then he abandoned that and he did the same thing with Mando he was doing before. I don't expect him to be bouncing around like Yoda in AOTC, but, yeah. I assume they'll grow his character some more and they know what they're doing. Favreau deserves the benefit of the doubt since he hasn't been the one fucking up Star Wars at LFL, but the recent history outside of Mando and Andor doesn't leave much confidence in decision making over there. Hopefully we'll see some new stuff tonight.
I'm pretty disappointed they reunited them so quickly. They couldn't even wait until. The next season to reunite them.
Making what's quite possibly two of the best things that have ever come out of Star Wars gives Favreau a lot of leeway with me. Just saying, let's just see what happens. I honestly think his hand was forced in bringing Grogu back for product sales FWIW. Hell I'm wearing a pair of Grogu socks at this very moment Nothing about the end of season one made me believe that Grogu was meant to be an integral part of the story moving forward but just letting your most popular character in one of your most popular Disney+ series go aint something Disney was going to be on board with and you know that.
But the Imperial Remnant's "Somehow, Palpatine has returned" Project requires Grogu and his Force powers for it's cloning, so I think that's what we'll be seeing more of. More S1 type stuff with maybe Moff Gideon escaping and someone like that doctor/scientist dude coming after Grogu.
I'm kind of the same way. I thought he was fine as a plot device but I'm not very invested in him as a character. I thought him going away with Luke made a lot of sense and for them to turn around and bring him back nearly immediately was dumb.
Star Wars shows or movies that attempt to solidify episode IX is the opposite of what I want to see. Let’s all just agree to pretend that shitpile never happened.
Agreed. Let's not try and make the dumbest line in the history of cinema make sense. Let's just forget it ever happened.
exactly what a scorned droid would say. Sorry he bailed on you and your broken down master for a real warrior.
I don't care that much about Grogu, but Mando caring about Grogu makes it easier to care about Mando when they're together. Because without Grogu, I'm not sure what's particularly appealing about watching a season with 6-8 hours of following Mando around. Especially if the alternative is to try and make me care about The Way or stupid Bo-Katan.
JJ abrams fucking sucks I will not watch anything he’s involved in. He’s such an awful storyteller. The guy can make a movie look beautiful but outside of that it’s all fucking awful
