If anyone wants a lightsaber, the disney store is running 30% off today (sorry it's 10:27, just saw it on their site).
Does anyone have a favorite song or section of music from the Star Wars universe? There's some great newer pieces that I love, but I can understand people not liking how much it relies on a synthesizer. I always default to the score from the astroid field in ESB. The whole score and scene are probably my favorite from the movies, but specifically the part in the middle of the chase.
I've just informed my daughter, who has finally woken up, that today is going to be an original trilogy day in the house. While she prefers the prequels and their accompanying animated shows, she has found my terms acceptable.
Man, it so hard to pick one piece. I always love Leia's theme with it's soft flute, and Rey's theme is really good too. I love the urgency of the RotJ space battle score it compliments the scene incredibly. How could you not love Binary Sunset? That 30 piece of film and music is hugely powerful without any dialogue and barely any "acting". And the prequels have just as many moments and pieces.
I'm apparently doing a marathon with my nephew at some point. My wife has informed him he's not allowed to talk over the movie or disagree with what I say about the lore.
Listen, I've never minded Rey Skywalker as like an homage to the people that shaped her and gave her a purpose in life, but it kinda seems like the Resistance actually did more of the heavy lifting there. So maybe she could have been Rey Sistance
Gosh there are so many to choose from, but I will say the buildup and transition to the Force Theme when Luke reveals himself in the Mandalorian makes me cry nearly every time. You know it’s him and the change over to the music once he’s revealed is just the cherry on top.
Binary Sunset, Duel of the Fates, Across the Stars, Rey's Theme hat tip to the Death Star II attack, which is reprised during the dogfight on Crait in TLJ. goosebumps everytime I watch it
I think they should invent a light saber that shoots out little bolts of the saber. Then you could target people across the room and not be so close.
I remember when I was little and read the Tales of the Jedi - The Sith War graphic novel for the first time, which had Exar Kun wielding a double bladed lightsaber. I thought that was the coolest thing.
I’m enjoying The Acolyte so far. Seems like it’s getting review bombed for being 1) a bit slow and 2) DEI. Spoiler Felt we got a bit cheated with only 5 minutes of Trinity and I thought the twin reveal was too early. Otherwise, I’m enjoying the set design and costumes, going to different planets for once, really enjoying the actors. Plus Wookiee Jedi coming up! And most importantly: Spoiler DUUUUUUUUVAL IN THE HOOOOOOOOUSE Slightly older Jason Mendoza looking hot as fuck.
The color/ethnicity of the cast is literally the last thing I care about in a Star Wars show/movie. Just let me pew pew with awesome stories.
fucking exactly. I don't want to see a bunch of white humans. Give me Wookies, twi'leks, torgruta's, etc.
just such a weird complaint for Star Wars which has always felt, to me at least, as something that always had a wide variety of representation. most of it was alien species, but it was still a theme.
I think every human except Lando being white in the original trilogy fried some of the boomer-aged brains to the point that including any other background as a human character is "woke"
It's so fucking weird. These same people will all claim the Rogue One is the best SW movie despite the entire cast of good guy main characters being non-white men and a woman. It literally doesn't get more DEI than Rogue One.
He learned english for this role. That's impressive because you'd never know. Sounds like he's spoken it for his entire life
You trying to tell me Han and Chewie didn’t bang it out at least once in all those years together? Please.
Haven’t started Acolyte yet. Did they really have a crackling fire burning in space? Also, I couldn’t care less what any character’s gender, race, or sexuality is. I don’t understand the people that get upset about that. But it did come across as a little ridiculous when two of the cast members said in an interview that C-3PO and R2D2 were gay.
