The prequels remain objectively poorly made movies (acting, cinematography, scripts, etc), and the nostalgia/rose-tinted glasses love that those movies get is often annoying, but I will say this: The love that Hayden Christiansen and Ahmed Best have gotten over the past 10 years has been wonderful.
The prequels are frustrating because they could have been so much more. They also came along at a formative time for me and helped galvanize my love of Star Wars, so I still love them for that. There are also scenes and moments in each movie that absolutely still give me goosebumps (Darth Maul lighting his double lightsaber for the first time and Yoda lighting his in AOTC) and John Williams crushed it as he always does.
And yeah, I absolutely love that Hayden and Ahmed are finally getting the support they always deserved.
I mean the vast majority of the fanbase likes Boyega. Tran has written terribly and her character gets a lot of hate, but not really her outside of the real chuds.
There's a great movie buried somewhere in Revenge of the Sith. Some different editing choices and other changes and that is one of the best Star Wars films we ever got. As is however it's just okay.
I don’t think I’m ready for Andor season 2. I absolutely adore Rogue One and season 1, so these reviews got me feeling a way.
New destinations/missions coming to Smuggler's Run ride at Galaxy's Edge. As well as Mando and Grogu joining your mission. https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-...nd-new-crew-controls-coming-to-smugglers-run/
Finished it today. Assaj ventress story was fine. Was not ready for the cad bane origin story to his the feels so hard.
Saw this reusable bag at Publix yesterday, felt like it put a bit too positive of a spin on Luke’s training with Yoda
Prob because he had no interest in diffusing a situation with a guy who just slaughtered the entirety of his family and friends, including small children Like, what was there to diffuse? Homie needed to be put down like the animal he had become and Obi Wan knew there was no going back
Agreed. I’ve found in similar scenarios if you don’t lead cock first you’ll just get ran over. Team Kenobi.
Reason #134 why the new shit in Acolyte was meh, but if slaughtering a bunch of younglings doesn't lead to "bleeding" a kyber crystal, nothing will. Such a dumb thing to try and retcon into the universe.
Didn’t watch the acolyte, and maybe that’s a good thing. I’m not the type of person who thinks acts of mass genocide can just be “forgiven”
My guess is the response the homers would give is “Anakin never fully committed 100% to the dark side.” And talk about him recognizing Ashoka while they fought and eventually turning on Palp. Fact is, it was a cool visual with dumb logic behind it, like 80% of Star Wars content.
Anakin was a fucking borderline monster even before he did his full turn. That whole slaughtering sand people shit wasn't just added to the movie for fun And did he really turn good? The guy protected his child, that doesn't make him good, that just makes him a dad at best and a selfish asshole at worst. I find everything around Anakin and his supposed "still having good in him" shit to be completely insane. The guy had a higher body count than like a lot of Sith's that have come before and after him, who were thought to be more evil than even he was. Anyone who understand the lore understands that fucker was pure evil, I don't care how supposedly "conflicted" he was. There is no fucking grey area with Vader/Anakin It's as bad as the folks who try and say dumb shit like "maybe the Empire wasn't wrong" that's why I love Andor. They make sure you fully understand who the bad guys are. There's no question about it either, unless you yourself are a fascist and agree with them. There might be some gray area with the wholesale slaughter of like imperial troops or officers (I personally have no problems with this, just following orders isnt a good excuse to commit those acts and Andor rightfully address this issue as well) but I, for one, see no gray area there. They're monsters who need to be put down, doesn't matter if they're following orders. Quit or flee, don't kill thousands just to protect your own ass. Be brave and man up if you truly have an issue with it
I mean - that’s the boldness of Luke’s claim, that he could see good in this absolute monster who Obi Wan, Yoda, his daughter, and everyone else had dismissed as beyond redemption. His motivation was power, but power in the pursuit of saving those who he loved, and he was corrupted by a Sith Lord in the pursuit of that power. His last act doesn’t make him a hero or wash away his evil, it marks his fall a tragedy for which there is the slightest redemption at the end, which even he knows is not enough to truly save him.
Got him into Jedi heaven I guess tho which is ALSO ridiculous to me Imagine being Mace and seeing that cocksucker show up in the afterlife with you
