To be fair, he's a disciple of George, who shrank the SW universe to an embarrassing degree in the prequels, and currently works for Disney, which is terrified to move on to new eras and prefers nostalgia and rehashes. He's stuck.
Understandable, and most of the Feloni and Favreau stuff has been good, but it would be nice to move away from The Clone Wars/Rebels characters. The Acolyte, for as bad as it was, was at least something unique.

there's no saving it. The only choice is to wash your hands of it and tell new stories in the star wars universe.
