Anytime I eat over there there's always people popping in to pick up takeout orders. Wasn't still run by those Middle Eastern people when you found it?

Midwood Smokehouse's burnt ends are the absolute tits. Cajun Queen in Elizabeth is really good too.

 

The burnt ends might me my favorite dish on the city. Also anyone ITT that hasn't been to Beef N Bottle needs to do so immediately ...

Looks like I am most likely moving back home to Charlotte. Outside of some time in 2005-2006, I haven't lived in Charlotte since I left home when I was 18 in 1999 to attend the University of South Carolina. I'm really excited at the possibility. I had pretty much written off any chance of moving back a couple of years ago. But, some things just came out of nowhere, and it's looking like it makes complete financial sense to move back.

I fear I've lost my Charlottean-ness, but that it will come back quickly. Like riding a bike.

 

i've been thinking about moving to Charlotte. My lease isn't up until next year, but after that....

 

Holligans tomorrow morning. 9-10am. Beers and Lividpool. Be there or be square. Heck, even Tobias will be there...though don't let that deter you from coming.

Tried DDs chicken shack wings today and they were delicious. Wasn't a good combo of no breakfast and eating away the pain of Lividpool's loss but they were so good.

Regardless, screw those people for looting stores and vehicles. How in the hell does anyone think that would make things better? Or, the more likely scenario, some opportunist sees it as a chance to steal, so still, fuck that person.

 

They are shutting down my office building uptown apparently due to some protests planned down here tonight.

 

Yeah BofA sent folks home early. I made it from Tyvola/Yorkmont area back to Noda with little issue. Traffic leaving Uptown was gridlocked ...

 

shit is getting heated uptown outside of the Omni Hotel . protestors all over the place. tear gas and flash bangs deployed.

Not sure where I gave the impression I felt otherwise. It's obviously a nationwide discussion. Still doesn't make it any less surreal when it happens in your city... at least for me. Dude was shot in the head a few feet from where I enter my building every day.

No, but you won't miss it. CLT breweries are fantastic! Triple C will have BA Up All Night on tap while NoDa & Birdsong will just continue rocking out. Wooden Robot & Heist will also be good stops when you leave Sycamore, OMB & Sugar Hill
