As I recall, one of their brewers parents basically fronted the entire operation. Obviously they became successful thanks to their own efforts, but thought some of the older Asheville breweries didn't respect them based on their origins ...
I believe this is true. And I don't think they are some untouchable, best-brewery-in-the-world type brewery, but I do like most of their beers, am getting into sours, and don't want AnBev buying up any more local breweries.

Yeah I'd agree I'm not sure I've been blown away necessarily by their offerings, thought I'm not a huge sour guy myself. I have a lot of friends that loooooooove Pernicious but there's probably 10+ local IPAs I prefer from Charlotte ... I've noticed a lot of places like Brawley's and Salud have nixed Wicked Weed from this point forward, so I guess they aren't too concerned about missing out on WW sales in the future...

also if anyone needs a parking for that, try sharon baptist church. they run a shuttle service for the wells fargo so i assume they will for this too. parking is only $20 or something and includes a shuttle service. went to church there years back and they're pretty good people. money goes to the youth group and community outreach i believe so is a good cause as well
