Uptown folks just a reminder that tomorrow is marathon day. Expect the roads to be pretty much locked down 7 am to 1 pm or so ...
There are a few weirdos like Tobias that may be willing to meet you in person. But only if you like soccer ...
And I’d argue it’s more weird to devote hours out of your day to post with folks then not be willing to meet up with them.
Yeah it's gonna be awful down there. Was thinking about taking my kid to discovery place tomorrow morning. Read the paper this morning and saw it was gonna be like 35 degrees, on top of the marathon and the shitty traffic, :nope nope nope;
I am organizing a cheer station in front of the old NoDa Brewing tap room. Anyone that wants to brave the weather and drink free beer in the early AM is welcome!
Hi, yes I enjoy Hooligans and soccer and have met up with a few TMBers of the CLT contingent. Really need construxboy to schedule a Good Bottle hang out again.
need a good restaurant for an early dinner as well as a good place for breakfast. Need something a bit on the nicer side for the dinner. TIA
There’s so many places there. Just walk around man. 5 Church has always been good for me dinner/brunch
Hi. Where is a good place to eat an early dinner. Preferably near the football stadium. Also. Any good breakfast recommendations?
Pinky's Westside grill, Al Mike's, Cowbell, Duckworths are all pretty close for dinner. Best breakfast nearby is Amelie's. Sunflour, Little Spoon, Zada Jane's are good for breakfast too.
Skip Amelie’s. Go with Zara Jane’s for sure. Apparently there are some good breakfast foods in the 7th Street Market uptown.
Thanks for the recommendations. Do you know of anything a little more upscale? The group I’ll be with can be a little picky at times.
I've been hitting up Cellar quite frequently these days Honest to god my grandma almost sent a plate back there. This was two years ago though and my first/only time there, so
Depending on what time y’all get there I’d always suggest Heist for brunch. All you can eat plus it’s a brewery. My fatass loves the doughnut tree. It’s magical. I’ll admit, I jokingly refer to myself as a low class foodie so I doubt I can offer much guidance in the way of upscale places. The real questions is what types of food you’re looking for, where you’ll be staying, etc...
Charlotte Agenda did a top 50 list recently. Could check that out as well Spoiler but fuck those guys, really
we don't have a hotel yet but I would guess its near the stadium. I would say we are looking for either a steakhouse for upper end, or some GodTier BBQ if not upscale
steakhouse for me is always Beef n Bottle. But it would be outside downtown a bit. BBQ lots of good options but not sure if there's a godtier. Midwood Smokehouse is considered the best I believe ...
City Smoke BBQ is downtown, but is pretty average. No prime BBQ spots in Charlotte in my opinion, but Midwood is the best. Not a big steakhouse fan, but go to BLT in the Ritz with groups typically. Not unique to Charlotte. Right now Celler at Duckworths is my favorite, but like to mix it up lots of good sports. Strong drinks and 500 beers. Food is good and atmosphere is cool. Crazy that it is below a sports bar. Fig Tree is best in the area, but more of a special occasion type restaurant. Elk chop is prime time.
Anyone have a quick run down of good/bad neighborhoods for a family potentially moving and working near South Park?
