If Dach could finish either opportunity we might be having a very different conversation today but my biggest frustrations were Murphy, deHaan, and DeBrincat yesterday. And we know one of those players is good so I'm mostly looking at the other two
Exactly my point. The entire team was awful but we had bigger issues with others. That game was so weird because we had four awesome chances to score 5v5 and they also to be the only good 5v5 shots we had. We played a Stanley cup contender and we looked like a non playoff team.
Jeremy has to go… Stan can follow his ass out the door. man fuck… this Hawks situation is so similar to the Bears. Fml
Reading between the lines apparently Kaplan source is Stan. Given her recent comments from her “sources” the spin about the Hawks still in rebuild mode after adding Johnson, MAF and Jones is beyond laughable. Just like the Bears we need a full house cleaning.
I listened to that last night. She said if they fire Colliton, theyre just gonna hire another one of his guys. IDK if that means bringing up the Rockford coach or what. Mike Kitchen would be pretty hilarious.
Summary from the call: Everyone, including Q, met to discuss the allegations and did nothing for 3 weeks During those three weeks, Aldrich continued to travel with the team and was inappropriate to an intern They gave him the option to resign or be investigated, he resigned and then they didn't investigate Bowman out Franchise is garbage
I have no idea what the league is going to do with him. In the corporate structure he’s middle management and the ultimate decision didn’t fall to him but certainly he’s not blameless. He certainly shouldn’t be coaching tonight
I thought Pat and Charlie had an interesting point about the power structure at the time and what Stan is on record about. Basically saying he was the lowest guy on the pecking order and probably didn't have the strongest voice and him telling John was thought of at the time as enough since John said he would take the lead on resolving/reporting the issue.
This is the only time I'll ever be serious about your supporting Penn State, but I'll ask since you went through it already: How did you reconcile being a PSU fan after the scandal and how will you do it with the Blackhawks? Because it sure feels weird watching them tonight, granted I'm not a life-long fan or anything
i reconcile it that all of the guilty parties were called out in public and fired. Had they just dumped this all on McDonough or something that would have been hard to stomach
My initial reaction in part because of a disbelief something like that could take place was so idiotic in retrospect. It’s very possible that I wouldn’t support the program if that happened now vs then. Probably because my kids have dramatically changed how I look at the world. With that said it was easier to support those kids on the team because they weren’t part of the scandal outside of committing to a coach and staff who covered up what happened and for that I can’t find fault with the players. As time passed your support for those kids and a hope that new staff, new leaders in the football department and new leaders of the school would allow this to never happen again has allowed to me to still support the program and kids. But it’s an embarrassment what happened. With this situation it’s a bit different. Players are still on the roster who I believe knew what happened. Who openly mocked and made fun of this kid. Who sent him into a spiral. The entire leadership group was still largely in place and the ownership still here. I was texting with my cousins today and they asked if I was going to watch and my response was that “going to take a break from the hawks that shit is disgusting”. I’m not sure I can tune back in for some time. That group allowed me to fall in love with a sport and now it’s apparent they were at minimum huge pieces of shit that allowed this to happen. It’s not just management but also players. So maybe when Kane and Toews move on I’ll tune back in but for now I think I’m good on supporting this team.
Can't blame you. Now that Toews is out of protocol he needs to answer to it. But I fear all we'll ever get from the vets is that they didn't know about it. If it's a lie, we'll never get closure til they're gone. If it's the truth we'll never believe them
This is great… but we still have guys in this roster I believe knew and didn’t step up and those guys are the face of franchise and it’s arguably greatest captan of all time. I have a hard time people are speaking on the topic from the NHL to the minors and people are mocking him for these guys to come out and say we didn’t know. That doesn’t seem to line up currently
so Kane was 20 and Toews was 21. How much do you think they really knew and what could they do? Their boss presumably knew and their boss’ boss and the guy above him definitely knew. Keith himself said they weren’t told why Aldrich left
A lot of people are talking about this fight...the second in as many shifts: If the cause is what we now all think it was now, the Captain has to step up
And do what? Fight him? Beach was violent before he was drafted. It’s not surprising he’s fighting in camp but I remember him going after Olimb and wondered if it had to do with what was being said to him in camp (not by olimb necessarily)
They obviously knew. Everyone did. So what’s the age at which you go from innocent young player to culpable in not coming forward? 23?
Kane just said in his interview that the guys he hung out in training camp with most were Akim Aliu and Beach...that's a very weird trio with very weird career results
So if you hear about an alleged sexual assault that is supposedly being dealt with by your employer, what is the standard you are under?
As leaders of the team, you don’t allow anyone fuck with the kid in any way possible. No jokes, no jabs, no nothing at bare minimum.
It’s exactly what I thought they would say. Everyone knew and on differently levels they were ok with it.
My point being Kane and Toews weren't grizzled veterans at the time, hell they were still on their entry level contracts. I also think hockey culture is super toxic so I'm not surprised at all people were talking shit to Beach. Hockey culture needs a huge overhaul and maybe this will get us one step closer.
Mcabe is a worthless sack of shit yet Ian Mitchell is the guy sent off the roster. Thank god Stan is gone
