I feel like this team can kick it in gear come playoff time. We shall see but lots of vets now that seem to keep it in a mid gear during the regular season. Just need guys to stay healthy
yea I was looking last night to see when the Wild would be making up the game differential....and there's a week off after an absurd road trip.
Every team gets a week off built into their schedule. It's part of the new agreement that came w the new AS format.
If the first line is going to play like that, the Hawks look a lot more dangerous. They just need TVR to get hurt so they can fix the defense.
The kids were flying last night. By seasons end these guys should all be in a good spot knowing the system + playing with a high IQ. Just have to hope they dont hit a fatigue wall once the grind of the playoffs begin. Interested to see what move(s) Stan makes.
Its not surprising this team kicked it into another gear once our captain returned to form. That time off paid off
Jurco has talent but we ruined his confidence. If he decides to use his size he can be a 20 goal guy. He hasn't shown that yet.
seems like a slight overpay but he has basement cap hit, young, and size. Hope Hossa tutelage can develop him.
Jurco never got a fair shake and had two years of horrible puck luck. He models his game after Marian Hossa. Given an actual chance instead of being stuck on the 4th line with Drew Miller and Luke Glendening he can actually produce. Good trade for Chicago
Another bonus is that if the Hawks resign him as a RFA, he can be exposed in the expansion draft instead of someone like Hartman.
Weird deadline. Dont care much for any of the big pieces and can't even put a finger on what they even need. Bryan Boyle is a hell of a hockey player and I hate Shane Doan but he's aright for some bottom 6 depth. People talking about a D but I don't see any good solid ones out there. I think I'd stand pat.
I assume they'll take a flier on some bottom 6 guy who may or may not see the line up come playoff time.
Can Boyle still play Center effectively? Ive watched like 2 tampa games all year. Finding a 3C to move Kruger back down to 4th Line C Shutdown role would be ideal. Boyle would add experience, bring size + physicality, and he's usually reliable on faceoffs. But Minnesota just gave up a 1st, 2nd, and 4th for a 3rd line center so....
