QB: Will Howard played his two best games of the season against Tennessee and Oregon. He had turnover issues prior to the CFP—pick six Penn State, ints deep in our territory Indiana and Michigan. He’s been really good, especially deep, the last two games. WR/TE: They are elite, and the obvious strength of the offense. Jeremiah Smith is the best WR in college football. RB: We are not a dominant run team due to the OL, but have two very good RBs. 150-175 is a great game for us. Both backs will catch passes. OL: LT Simmons was lost at Oregon. C McLaughlin was lost prior to Indiana. The OL looked terrible against Michigan and great against Tennessee and Oregon. This is still our weakness offensively. DL: Like the defense as a whole, they have been very good since November. They were absolutely dominant against Oregon—8 sacks and 4 batted passes. LB: Biggest improvement on the team as the season has played on. Cody Simon played his best game against Oregon. DB: Oregon threw for 341 in the first matchup, and really caused problems. While they threw for 299 in the second matchup, nearly all of it was after we took a 34-0 lead. 201 is the next best anyone has thrown. They are very good. In our last 8 games, which included 4 playoff teams, the most total offense of any opponent is 276. Oregon threw for 299, but had -23 rushing.
I feel like people are overreacting to their playoff run. A few weeks ago they were ready to fire Day, while losing at home to a team Texas pummeled.
Ohio State is like Georgia. Thicc and Deep. That 6 point spread says a lot. Ohio state should win. but fuck the ewers haters he’s now in two semifinals and all I saw was brass balls last night. Arch this arch that - I’m annoyed of those folks. He’s got wheels and a deep ball doesn’t mean he’s going to go in there and light it up against elite D. Especially after last night - the arch folks are fucking annoying.
I know the public sentiment seems to be that OSU will win and cover but I think it's going to be a really close game. Texas is too good in the trenches.
Big fan of Tex and his commitment to the weekly CFB threads. I’m a proud member of the sicko gang that consumes any and all games no matter the day or time.
We’ll sell our allotment, but Texas is going to scoop up any additional tickets due to travel. Play this game in the domes in Indy or Detroit and the situation would be reversed. Its going to be a Texas crowd if your fans have some enthusiasm after the two wins.
I know a lot of folks that didn't go to Atlanta in hopes the Horns got back to Texas. Should be a good crowd. I'm working out the details now and should be going.
Strictly anecdotal, but it seems like a lot of people I know went to the Rose Bowl because everyone had time off from work and it’s a historic venue for older OSU fans/alumni. Our alumni network and fan base is huge, like yours, but I think this one will be 70/30 Texas due to travel.
I don’t know that our fans can afford to travel after two playoff games. We lost to Texas last time we played them in the post season so likely to lose again.
I ate at Texas Roadhouse this week and when the manager came over to ask how everything was I told her Quinn Ewers can’t read a defense and their run game was soft. She brought me some more complimentary rolls and cinnabutter. When I left I shot everyone a horns down. Got you good you fucks.
I went to the game in Austin in 2006. Best road game experience I’ve ever had. Much respect for the Texas fan base.
