ICO’s are easy enough to find, then just do your own analysis... I have friends I listen to/bounce things off, but I read the white papers, do my due diligence on their team, try to figure out if their business makes sense — does it solve a problem, is it better than the what’s out there, how does it make money, is it scaleable/adoptable?

You’re statement implies the secondary coin will have/hold value. It most likely will not. Unless you’re implying BTC doesn’t have actual value?

The Bitcoin Segwit2x fork is projected to take place on November 16th and will result in two bitcoin blockchains. Following the fork, Coinbase will continue referring to the current bitcoin blockchain as Bitcoin and the forked blockchain as Bitcoin2x.
Coinbase apparently has doubts about the security and stability of the BTG so they aren’t supporting it as of right now.
I’ve started GPU mining for fun with my 1080Ti’s Using Nicehash to sell hash space right now as whattomine has that at the top for my setup. Is there anything else I should use instead? Also, if I want to buy in, should I avoid BTC and look to alts like litecoin or etherium? Also, Coinbase ok for buying in or use someone else?
I don’t know anything about mining. If you just buy BTC and check back in on it in a few years you’ll be happy but alts will make you go crazy if you day trade. Probably best to put the largest part of your crypto portfolio on BTC and then $100 each on XRP, OMG, VTC, CVC, XLM, STRAT, ARK, and IOTA. Added: DCR and NEO also on bittrex
