Oh I’ve already been proven wrong. I almost bought some at $40.(meaning I didn’t) I just don’t think it’s there long term. Too much competition, too many alternatives. But Suggesting someone chase an investment that’s up how many thousand percent, with no change in fundamentals is a stretch at best. Bitcoin futures open up later this year, and I will be putting my money where My mouth is and shorting it.
why ? honest question why ? why are you interested ? do you know what you have to pay 5 grand and what would u buy of equal or greater value ? I am for once interested in your deduction of intelligence ?
i don't love btc long term for real. there's a lot of problems with it. but i don't think the price will ever really go down unless something comes along with tech that absolutely destroys everything else on the market. there's definitely a shit load more money day trading alts, but btc should be "safe" for modest gains long term. i, under no circumstance, buy this 500k btc people are talking about happening. 15-20k? sure, but the chance for those of us with little money to because fucking billionaires has likely past with btc. love the crypto market and what it can bring to the table, but btc is nothing more than the first. strictly speaking in terms of currency monero, dash, litecoin, decred, vertcoin, etc all have better tech. hopefully with real money flowing into btc now it will also be flowing into alts that actually have redeeming qualities
I can get on board with that. I think a better suggestion for long term blockchain investing would be to buy a basket of the currencies. Honing in on just bitcoin is poor advice imo.
Why can't bitcoin just adopt whatever the new super tech is into their blockchain? Seems like the real advantage would be consumer and vendor adoption. The tech is much easier to change than the customer and vendor acceptance.
I've thought about putting together a basic rig to mine some other alts. I have free electric right now so even if it netted a couple bucks a day it'd be a profit (after paying for the setup). I have an old laptop but I don't think that would work.
I have a nice gaming laptop. Thought about setting it up as well. I work from home so maybe I can make money by writing electricity off on taxes idk
dude I have not gotten into bitcoin in a while but you smurfs were discussing it so I asked jimmy . he says its a lost deal . go to the international money exchange and just get a international master card and do buss . that way if they trace you they only get what you put on the card ??????
true but if u do international buss . just go to the currency exchange and get a master card pay as you go . that way they cant wipe out your account online . I go to the one at florida mall . make shure its the international one . it does lira , and pounds .
guessing most of the fanboys in this thread do not even one one coin. and Odin if you really think btc could get to 15-20k i hope you have a shit ton of money in it. if i thought something would triple or quadruple in value in a year or two i would put a pretty large % of my wealth into it.
Electric is included in rent right now. So i figured I'd try it out. Problem is I'm not sure my laptop would even run a mining program. I'll try and read some more about it at home and maybe give it a go.
Sorry, what wallet do yall use for alts? Physical? Do yall only add to exchange when you are about to trade?
yes I agree let us know if you get it less than a grand a coin ? you guys sound like your playing penny stocks .
Yeah the wallet should have an option to stake your coins and then it mines from there is my understanding. Or you can save the power and buy NEO on Binance and leave it on exchange and they stake for you.
Decided to wet the beak today and made my first nominal investment in Bitcoin tonight. Was surprised how easy it was to open an account and start trading. Really looking forward to learning more about the technology since that is where financials markets are heading.
No offense intended, but these are nothing like Apple or Google. Apple and Google have real products that people pay lots of money for. Bitcoin is just an idea. It's a great idea and a transformative technology, but most of it current value is based upon the fact that people have made money on it.
wow I,m outa here. my buddies thought I was stupid for retirement preparing also . whats hard is funeral plots . yikes! ground , - arangements , this is no issue . don,t blame you for looking at this . have fun .
building a simple gpu mining rig. nothing too excessive 2-4. 1060s probably. what can i mine with that Don't Hate Me Bro! that isn't a waste of time def can do vtc and that's what i will likely do but just curious if anything major can be mined like that
I think there’s websites that’ll work out the math for you and show you what’s profitable based on your rig/costs.
I was mainly stating that a lot of people sit on the bigger ones and day trade the others. I understand that they aren't like stocks in that other sense.
I cleaned off everything I could on my old laptop and have it set on minergate to pool mine. It's been mining XMR all night. We'll see if it actually makes any money while electric is included in my rent. I do need to get a fan to blow on it though, that laptop ran hot anyways.
Will do. I figure either I'll make a couple bucks, or I'll burn up a laptop that I was going to take to a friend's house and use for target practice.
I'd check the status at work or from my phone if I wasn't scared of what else might be out there lol.
Not from work lol. Just google minergate.com It seems to be one of the biggest mining pools (although i saw some discussion calling them a scam or at least ran by scammers) there were also a lot of good reviews. It also uses a GUI interface so you don't have to do any line level coding or anything and it does "smart mining" where I guess it switches to the most profitable one based off exchange rates. I wouldn't link it to any wallet you keep investment coins in but I figured it was worth a try. If I knew more about mining, had a better machine and felt comfortable in the dos: prompt I'd go with a different mining pool.
I wouldn't. Aside from all the other risks, mining really taxes your computer so I tried to eliminate every program I could that isn't necessary for the computer to run.
