Agreed that it probably didnt have as many LOL moments but it definitely had some great stuff in it. Like the "coachey/first classy" crap, the "everyone brings wine", the seating arrangements in both settings. Regardless, this seasonal is on its way to being my favorite.
I always love these type of things in the episodes. "Chat and cut" being the biggest one this season. Idk, something felt "off" in this episode, and a little more forced than the problems that have come up in other episodes so far.
Lost hard at the first shoelace part--classic larry moment. Also the face he made when Susie said that he tripped seemed like a new Larry expression and is definitely gif worthy
weak episode but had a few laughs, would have been better if he had taken the cash and hadn't gotten stuck in the train
Still good but yeah I'd say clearly the worst of the season. I would love to have a show with Larry and Gervais just going around being assholes to random people on the streets. Very excited for the return of Rosie and Leon next week.
clearly the ep was what people wanted, gervais making a cameo and arguing with larry. at its moments but not great by any means
Last two episodes were funny BUT not on par with the rest of the season thus far. Still very very solid episodes, B's - but again, the rest of the season has been A's and A+'s
But yeah, Leon driving all the way across the country was pretty fuckin' strong... him fitting 8 people in the car was just as solid. I wish they would have went with an angle that Larry didn't know Leon was coming and ended up driving his car all the way across the country to see him. Fuckin' roommate back in LA was glorious
Laughed when the guy was talking about Larry making life small and he said "I want to make that smaller."
Loved this line. Really liked this episode. Definitely better than last week, good to see it getting back in form to what the season has been.
thought this episode was great. I missed Leon and the juicing/HOF angle was brilliant. "goddamn jump rope hanging from your fucking pants"
Thought it was a really good to great ep. There was so much in it. Shit bow, Leon telling the hitchiker/roommate story, juicing for sex/hall of fame, the viagra drug dealer in the park, the "bump in" with someone you arent really friends with, take out food getting messy and I'm probably forgetting some stuff. Episode was really loaded. So I was in Chicago this past weekend and was waiting in line for a bar/club when some well dressed women tried to cut and my friend stopped and did the whole "chat and cut" routine on them. They were pretty pissed but it was hilarious.
Top shelf episode. Lots of big laughs but when Larry persuaded Wanda to let the racist judge decide the outcome, I was busting a gut.
Not as funny as the others but still very good. The Fugitive references were awesome and the hot/ugly wife thing was hilarious. Needed some Leon/judge interaction though.
Funny how Larry discriminates against guys with hot wives when he out kicked his coverage with Cheryl for years.
I always wonder how much his character is supposed to have in the show. He obviously has tons of money, but he always avoids any sort of specifics
for no reason whatsoever, i always think that the character in the show is rich, but not nearly as rich as larry david is in real life. i dont think i have any reason to think that, but thats always what i tell myself when that question pops up.
i kept saying the "it wasnt me, it was the one armed man" from Ace Ventura (at least i think it's from Ace, or maybe it's from The Mask)
i think the episode quality has gone down from the first 3 eps but still pretty funny still waiting on a prettay prettay prettaaaaaay pretty good line
The one-armed man storyline originated from the 60's television series "The Fugitive" (later made into a film in the early 90's)
i think they mean they were quoting it from that movie since it was said in a much more memorable way than it was in the fugitive. granted the fugitive's storyline is more memorable, but the delivery of that line in the mask makes it far more quotable. or i'm just a dumb vagina.
watching seinfeld now, the guy who sells kramer and newman the commando 450 shower head when they installed the low-flow showerheads in jerry's building is the one armed man from last episode. random fact.
