Being a realtor and working a lot from home has been nice with a 6 week old. I have also told my fiance that I have to show a few homes, only to go squeeze in 9 holes for my sanity.

Took about 3 weeks off. In hindsight would have preferred to take less up front and more when the colic kicked in around week 4 cause that shit was brutal.

Came home for lunch today and it's like I have a new kid. Seems he found his voice over night as his babbling/sounds are no where near what they've been. So stoked.

On another note we started the process of night weaning last night. He's been a 1 wake feeder for a good while now but it's time to cut that shit out for my wifes sake. I'm mad I didn't try it a bit back but we started with 3 ounces last night and cutting down a half ounce each night. Pretty quick and I'm sure he's going to cry his head off as it gets lower/stops but it will be worth it.

Roo started teething at 3 1/2 months. You can't even tell she was a month early anymore because she is between 15-16 lbs now.

    Both suck.

We all know how this is gonna go: the crib is important, so let's get the best. Oh, we definitely need all of the furniture to match, so let's add that on. Also, this rocking chair is marked down from $2k to $1900? It would be throwing money away not to get that.

My 7-year-old asked me if girls could marry other girls earlier this year. "Yeah, they sometimes do," I said.

    End of conversation.

Don't make it a big deal, because their train of thought is bound to follow the next butterfly that floats by.

For sure. Like I said I read this board. I would never engage in any type of leaning one way or the other

Just thought it was an interesting question for someone so young. It's just stuff that comes up with kids.

I ll delete the post if this has to be any sort of leaning one way or the other. Just ask me too.

Just to change subject again I am sorry.

My 3 year old daughter wants to paint her nails every night. Any time there is the slightest nic she cries till it's fixed. I can't get her to play till her nails are "perfect" in her words.

Daughter has a birthday party this morning for a 6 year old in her class. I posted this last year but he got his first gun this year. I’m tasked to get him a gift this year and told my wife I might pick up some shotgun shells or something.

Anyway, the theme of his party is super Mario mushroom party. I laughed and said I guess they don’t watch the news. Apparently my wife didn’t either and now I get to break the Trump mushroom story to my wife.

Shockingly, we are having a tough time finding an au pair willing to take 3 kids under 16 months. I’ll agree it’s basically a suicide mission.

Also, my wife has decided that her $90k job is too “tough” (she works 9-4), so she’s decided that she wants to take an 8:30-5:00 job working for my brother in laws insurance agency for $50k. She’s having a tough time realizing why I think this is insane.

I’m going to go pour another bourbon.

My girls are in kindergarten now and learning to read. One is slightly ahead of the other and I overheard them yesterday in their room. Kate was reading a book to Anna and pointing all the words out as Anna repeated after her.

It really warmed my heart to watch this and I hope they continue this behavior going forward.

After they finished the book I had to stop them and let them know how proud I was that they were helping each other learn.

I would *never* tell my wife this, but I sort of want three from a bigger family perspective. My marriage wouldn’t survive though. We are currently in the middle of the “I should have never gotten married and had kids and this is all your fault” months due to #2 regressing and things would just crumble if we had to do it again.

since friday my daughter has selpt at least 12.5hr through the night. Its been a complete game changer for the wife and I. Im trying to enjoy it but the thought of me getting used to this amount of sleep and then her reverting back still has me :ohdear:

My 5 year old lost her first tooth at school on Tuesday. I go and pick her up and she shows me. I'm like cool, where is it? She just shrugs her shoulders and says I dont know where I lost it. I just noticed it was gone a few minutes ago while I was coloring. How the hell do you not know you're missing a tooth?

We get home and my wife has a melt down 1: because "her baby is growing up too fast" and 2: I refused to drive 2 blocks to the school in a torrential downpour and look on the playground where the tooth "might" have fallen out.

I thought she was joking at first on that last part. Nope, 100% serious.

They revert then go back. Someone else said earlier, if you google "X month sleep regression" you'll always get a hit. Just try to tire the shit out of them late in the day if they haven't had much activity.
