I think the sleep will get better once she starts eating more. She still only eats about 4oz per feeding.

My daughter has been for the most part a very sweet child. Always smiling, laughing, giving out random hugs to everybody she can. She just turned 16 months old and I was thinking maybe all those stories of toddlers becoming little shits wouldn't happen with her. Yea, I was wrong. She has obviously fussed before but this last 4 days have been a challenge. First happened last Friday night when we went for a walk just the two of us. Got to the end of the block and it was time to go home for dinner but she wasn't having that, lost her absolute fucking mind. Crying doesn't bother me, I can phase that shit out no problem. The real issue is she gets to this level where she starts pulling at her face and hair. She's hard headed as hell so ignoring her doesn't do anything and I'm concerned shes going to actually hurt herself. Been mostly picking her up and staying very calm, trying to get her to calm down and refocus her but that's a whole lot easier said than done.

Sounds exactly like our 20 month old daughter. Probably just her age, but she seems just as strong-willed as my wife. As soon as you put her down she bolts off like a bat out of hell, she won't get out of eye sight from us but if we try and redirect her to walk somewhere else she'll start getting upset. She's definitely in that phase where everything must be in her control.

Running a 5K with 1/3 this weekend. Haven't run for 6 months since hurting my foot while I was deployed. Got a cortisone cocktail injected into it on Friday but I'm going to need all the dad energy to get thru this.

I've talked about this before, but I truly believe my step sons (3 yr old) is having some behavior problems associated with Second and Third has exposure to nicotine from the vaping his dad and his girl friend do all the time in the house. My fiance' has noticed it as well since I pointed it out in December and confronted baby daddy with the information I presented and is refusing to quit vaping in the house as he says it is only water vapor when all the studies out there prove otherwise.

Proud dad. The 5 and 2 year olds were on the playground at chik fil a. There was a boy about 9/10 in there talking trash to our 2 yr old. The oldest goes over to that boy and put him in his place saying you don’t talk to my little sister like that. Nice to see her standing up for her little sister.

Proud dad moment today too. This fall our son was in the midst of being a threenager and was close to getting kicked out of daycare. He was generally a good kid but was terrible at naptime and incredibly disruptive and disrespectful. We worked really hard on redirecting behavior and teaching him to calm himself when he doesn’t get his way. Today his teacher said he has been great for weeks and he wished he could get his other students to listen as well. Four is so much better than 3.

Wife walked out the door this morning, and I then had the follow exchange with our nanny:

Nanny: So did Mrs. CU tell you what (our oldest daughter - 20 months) did yesterday?

    Me: Oh God. No, what?

Nanny: Mrs. CU walked in the door from work and she went running over to the door, ran right past her saying "Dada, dada, dada" and looking around for you.

Me: That's funny, she failed to mention that.

We’re at Kalahari for the weekend which is an indoor water park/hotel. Went to dinner, and I decided to order buffalo fries forgetting that I didn’t take my Prilosec today. Wife took the 9 yo and his friend who we brought to the arcade, while I went to our room with our 2.5 yo to get her to bed. Couldn’t get her to sleep until like 11 pm, and now I’ve been up for 2 hours with the worst heartburn I’ve ever had. I’m fucked for tomorrow.

This is a cool place. We are heading up soon. I’m surprised they don’t have a store to pick up some otc stuff to help out

Used this with my newborn daughter and it was the best thing in the world. Swaddle + Doc and she slept like a champ. We were told not to buy this because of the warnings but my first born was the worse sleeper ever and we needed to do something different with baby girl and it worked.

Keep them in the crib. What we did for our son was pitch the idea a few times before he was finally excited. He is also super into Mininons so the wife purchased a bed set so that helped.

Yes , they are hoping it still localized and they can just remove it , then attach electrodes to the area to make sure that all the seizure activity is gone. Then about a week in the hospital for recovery.

Do they know why the scarring is happening? Is it due to the seizures or causing the seizures? Have they run other screens for known infant seizure disorders?

Bo Pelinis basically asking the same question, are they confident this is the source of seizures? I'm keeping y'all in my thoughts, I think about your kid a lot actually and can't imagine how tough this is. Stay strong and keep the updates coming man

They said because the EEG and MRI both show results on the right side they believe that the scarring is causing the seizures. They didn't run screens because the EEG results were very specific and then the MRI confirmed it.

Do they know the cause of the scarring? I am not at all telling you what to do but if I were you I would probably at least ask about metabolic testing (unless they've discussed it and discounted it). I don't think metabolic issues are typically associated with brain scarring but they can explain a lot of infant seizure problems. If not, there's genetic testing that can be done. It's expensive but there's a commercially available option at Baylor.

Just trying to think of things that might cause localized scarring absent blunt force trauma, oxygen deprivation, or brain cancer. I'm not a pediatric neurologist, though. Nor a doctor.

Yes, she was born with a tumor which they believe is benign or she had a malformed brain development it was not a brain bleed.

Took my 3 yr daughter to her first Preds game Thursday. We sat up top, but she stayed with it for the most part. Always wound up like her dad. "Look alive Pekka" and "Let's Go Preds"

Her favorite song is Psycho Killer by Talking Heads. I love throwing concerts on the TV and jamming out with her. She has a drum set and guitar. I am hoping she picks one up if she wants too. I have no music talent other than air guitar and off key lead front man .

First trip to the ER for the 10month old. Wife got her out of the tub, set her on the counter and she slipped out of her hands, off the counter and on the back of her head. Never lost consciousness but was going crazy... finally got her calmed down after about 15min. She ate a little and then threw up so we took her to the er. X-ray showed a displaced fracture on her skull but luckily no bleeding or swelling in the ct scan. Theyre sending us home now. Absolutely fucking terrifying how quick that shit can happen but so thankful everything seems to be alright considering.

One of the scariest moments of my life was when I was around 14/15 and was holding my niece. She squirmed out of my arms with that back body bend and fell on her head/neck. I thought for sure I killed/paralyzed her. Luckily she was just fine but I don’t think I held her for a while after that. I squeeze the crap out of my kids when I hold them.
