Update: She's going back to school, so not so much extra income. Better than sitting at home doing jack shit, at least....but no fucking idea why she didn't already do this.
Say a prayer for my soon to be fiancee she has a colonoscopy today to try and find out why her iron has been dangerously low. She will probably have to be admitted after it if her levels are still bad
Because that prep stuff she had to drink was too much and she threw it up we will have to retry in a couple months...fuck. They want her to take Miralax every day for 3 months
Are you guys aware that there are 30, MOTHERFUCKING THIRTY, different Power Rangers series available on Netflix. I am, now. My son has watched all of them, multiple times, over the last year.
My daughter is on a She-Ra and the Princess of Power kick right now. The OG one. I need to look for Superfriends and the 90s Spiderman and X-Men series.
I unfortunately had to have a colonoscopy last year. Had heard horrors stories about the prep. Which one did she use? I used Suprep and mixed it with white grape juice and it honestly wasn't that bad. I did eventually throw up after round 2 but that was just bc I drank so much beer right before. Doctor noted my prep as clean
The days of Future past run was great. I rewatched it before the movie came out. You remember. You played an important role.
Grew up on 90's X-Men. Loved this Rogue and Wolverine. And its where Gambit became one of my favorite. I would love for him to at one point get a legit role or film.
Hey men. My 6mo daughter is chugging faster than my wife can produce, so starting to supplement some formula in now. Dtr does not seem to like formula much at all, thank you very much. Anybody got any practical tips on introducing this back into her diet?
If you don’t mind me asking outside of low iron what else is the problem. My wife had the same issue and issues going and none of the hospitals in Chicago could help. Ended up going to Mayo and it was super easy to fix.
We used formula to supplement from week 2 on with our 3 year old and she’s perfectly fine developmentally and never gets sick. Our Dr said that as long as she gets 1 bottle per day of breastmilk she should still get all the antibodies from Mom. She said feeding shouldn’t be stressful and there’s nothing wrong with formula.
yeah that's not the issue. The issue for us is that she's been exclusively breast fed for 6 months, now needs some formula and doesn't wanna drink it.
That’s what I was gonna say by 6 months albeit many years ago we were on rice/formula or whatever that was and lots of purées
Not sure how much that can supplement calorie wise but we started in on that recently and it's helped some.
Oh gotcha. Have you tried mixing 4 oz breast milk with like 2 oz formula? Then gradually increase formula while decreasing breastmilk?
They aren't completely sure all her scans have been negative, so the colonoscopy is that last step in the testing process. She just gets dizzy easily and is a fall risk at random times.
Moviprep was the one they prescribed her. We even tried mixing it but her body was having none of it.
Gotcha. My wife has had those symptoms too for some time. She also had GI challenges and that getting rectified has pretty much fixed the vertigo and blood levels for things like iron. Obviously I don’t know your situation but if you can’t find answers I would highly recommend hitting Mayo. They have one in Jacksonville which by your fans of would be the closest in my guess. We dealt with shit off and on for five plus years and now it’s like she has a new lease on life. Best of luck
that's a great idea. I'm gonna try it. I'm a primary care physician. 250k in debt to go through med school/residency, learn about weird diseases that nobody has, and turns out THIS is the type of shit that actually matters. Thanks for the tip, I love it
been a tough week. wife had a blighted ovum so now we've got a d&c scheduled tomorrow. any insight on what the next couple days have in store? also, how long after you have a d&c can you start trying again? she is only 6.5 weeks so since its early does that shorten the length of time we will need to wait?
shit, man, I'm sorry. We had an ectopic and another miscarriage after that, and it sucks. The biggest issue after the D&C is gonna be the emotional one. Could be some residual bleeding and cramping for a few days Ask her doc about when precisely you can start trying again after the procedure. She'll need a short period for healing, but sorta counterintuitively, trying again sooner than later is actually better (in terms of reducing chances of miscarriage).
I’d either do food or you can try formula & breastmilk mixed together. It will ease her in and get her used to the taste.
I’m sorry to hear that. My wife had a D&C yesterday. We were 8-9 weeks along. Confirm with your doctor but I was told no activity until the bleeding stops then use condoms until she has a period.
two week checkup today on the newborn, she's put on 7 ounces and grown an inch. she's been eating like crazy. do you not have pets? that's a pretty standard procedure when you're swapping food brands to avoid diarrhea.
Made my first fatherhood mistake with my step son at the beach yesterday. I’ve never put sunscreen on my back as I’m always chilling in a chair. Apparently with a kid you’re bent over playing in the sand and water and it fries your back.
This and also she will eventually drink formula. We had a similar issue around this time and daughter refused to breast feed when wife got back from a work trip, so we went through our frozen stash pretty quickly. Pediatrician said a healthy kid will eventually drink the formula, they won’t starve themselves.
That's who my wife wanted to invite? We have a couple different groups of friends(some in those groups that we are closer to than others) and it became, "well, we invited x so we have to invite y" and the number grew. Think my wife thought more people would say no.
Any of you use weighted blankets for your kids napping. It’s weird with us. I’m able to get our son to sleep in 30 seconds by just putting my arm over him and giving it a little force. My wife has been struggling to get him down. Even laying next to him. She tried putting some force on her arm over him and he was out like a light. It usually takes her 45 minutes to get him to sleep. Thinking about a weighted blanket for him. Albeit I know nothing about the things.
5 year old outsmarted me yesterday I was power washing the sidewalks and when it was getting dark we packed up and rolled the power washer down the steps to the garage. Well, going down the steps broke a piece off and he found it and the spring that goes in it. He immediately told me "next time I think you need to carry the power washer down instead of rolling down the steps" Yea, you are right
My twins are starting to use the table or whatever they can find to pull themselves up. They’re also using my leg hair, which is quite pleasant. I’m going to have to at least trim them to end this option.
