Skip the juice. Kids don’t need juice. if you are starting with bananas get it liquidy with breast milk, formula or water to make it easier to swallow.
When you want to introduce peanuts (we did it at about 8 months) I recommend Bamba which you can order from Amazon. https://www.haaretz.com/science-and-health/is-bamba-key-to-peanut-allergy-prevention-1.5311250
We never bought a jar of baby food nor made our own. Just fed the kid. Avocado, banana, chicken. It seemed to work.
Agreed. We started with making it ourselves and then switched to Beechnut because it wasn't worth our time. The one thing we do now at the recommendation of our pediatrician, since we've tested most of the allergens, is mix rice with our sauces if we're cooking certain ethnic foods. Last week we made Thai Green Curry, so we blended that with some rice and fed it to him. Or we did Tikka Masala the week before. Our pediatrician says this helps them develop to not be picky eaters and he loved the green curry. Only thing I've seen him be more excited about was sweet potatoes.
Yeah, I read some Norwegian study that indicated whatever they eat at 11 months they will eat as a teenager so we have been very explorative on foods with our kids. They start to get more picky after that and it gets more challenging but I’m all for exposing them to foods early.
We never even bothered with allergens we gave that mofo everything we were eating which is everything.....no problems he will eat everything u out in front of him he’s a garbage disposal
which vitamix did you go with and do you wish you had went with a different one for other cooking purposes?
I did the the one at Costco. It has containers to do liquids or dry (grains). I don’t think I’ve done grains once. No regrets but I don’t use it as much as I thought I would. It kind of goes in streaks.
It makes soups. I’ve only made them where I start it on the stove and then purée but the instructions had directions for doing them 100% in the vita-mix
Levi turns 4 months tomorrow, time flies. On my way to see him have his first “swim” lesson. Excited af.
We have the Ascent A3500 and it’s really a nice blender. Pretty much goes through anything and the presets are super nice to have
We’ve done the ice cream in them, and I make smoothies daily. Haven’t tried the soup yet but we aren’t really a soup family. Congrats on your purchase and I hope you enjoy it.
And yes, they let baby sting-ray swim at the same time. wtf is that? I think maybe a patch on the pool floor.
They had to turn him up to a high flow oxygen which required switching to feeding from a tube. He has struggled to transition back to feeding the old fashion way so this has all gone much longer than anticipated. His surgery has been pushed back to December. That being said, we expect he will be discharged tomorrow.
It was about noon when I realized I was still listening to kidzbop radio in my truck Dropped the kid off at 7:15 am
I went to bed every night last week singing “Blaze and the Monster Machines” last week. I told him the DVR was broken Sunday and it needed a week to rest. It has now been replaced by “Bubble Bubble Bubble Guppy Guppy Guppies” this week.
I regular sing PJ Masks P P Pj Masks P P P PJ Masks P P PJ Masks. because night time is the right time to fight crime!
Yuuup, we've been watching the hell out of some Bubble Guppies and that damn song is stuck on my head.
definitely Russian propaganda. Also never watch Pinky Dinky Doo, I lost sleep because I couldn’t get the theme song out of my head.
What are yalls kids dressing up as tomorrow? Mandelorian here He picked it out himself. I was so proud
Spider man. Again. Although he’ll be at his dads. He loves costumes so it’s his favorite holiday. First year we won’t have him so it may be a bummer.
daughter is a hatchimal bee (?) 2 yr old son will be whatever outfit he decides hes cool with tomorrow. so either a train conductor, chewbacca or spiderman
My son is 8 months old and still pretty bald and has a head size in the 100 percentile (Fortunately he's 98 percentile for height and 80 percentile for weight) so he's going to be Charlie Brown.
My turd is 13 and having some friends over to ToT. They are all wearing Bears jerseys. If one of them show up in a Trubisky jersey I’ve been saving up rotten eggs to throw at him.
In the same vein, our 5 year old loves to wear the same pajamas as his younger siblings multiple times per week. It is to the point that when my wife buys pajamas she tries to get 3 pairs so each kid has one. Tonight he will be trick or treating as Darth Vader with our neighbors across the street that coincidentally decided to be matching storm troopers.
