Anyone have a kid wanting to stop eating solid foods (or being very picky) at around 11 months? He will crush some yogurt but isn’t a fan of his purées right now.

He does love anything like Cheerios and the Trader Joe’s puffs. He also loves getting pieces fed from our plates but turns away from his food.

Mine went through phases where out of nowhere he stopped eating his favorite healthier food options. Keep putting it on their plate they should come back around over time. I think a rule of thumb was always have 1 thing you know they’ll eat on the plate along side any new foods or foods theyve seemingly given up on.

Kids taste in food is fucking weird and changes week to week at that age. I wouldn’t worry too much. Having a backup plan or mixing the food together worked well enough for me.

My in laws are 100 miles away. While both still work, MIL is a teacher so she gets plenty of time off.

They have offered to watch our kids zero times in 6.5 years.

MIL is 100 miles away and used to be able to come watch the kids any time we needed, but she's had health issues the last couple years that's made it no longer possible.

Then my parents are 50 miles away, but neither are capable of being alone with the kids for 5 minutes, let alone any extended amount of time.

Yeah my parents are a few hours and my mom is in poor enough health that they can't do anything. My mother-in-law helped out a lot when my daughter was born but she's at a point where she's dealing with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's symptoms and lives in a memory care facility near us now.

So we have a little bit of a biter. When he gets overly excited, he hugs and bites. He will be 1 in 2 weeks. Is there anything that can be done about it at this point? Anyone have experience with this?

Get some teething bracelets or toys or necklace. When he starts to bite tell him no then redirect to those teething toys. About all you can do.

I am not sure at 7 days shy of 1yo he could comprehend that he is feeling pain because he just bit someone. Not sure he can even comprehend that he is indeed biting someone at this point.

Agreed, but if you are overly dramatic and act like he is causing the most intense pain ever it will probably upset him and may make him get the point quicker. It's also a phase, our daughter started biting whenever she was rough-housing with us and got excited. Took her a while to completely stop doing it but it tapered off after maybe three to six months.

My daughter is 2 and went through a biting phase not long ago. When she did it it was incredibly hard not to yell at her because of how it hurt, but we just simply told her no and redirected. Just like we do with any other indiscretion. Just like with spanking, I think biting them would do more hard than good. And it would show them that it's okay to harm other people to prove a point.

Still working on summer day camps for the 7 year old
This week he is at one church
    Next week another church
Looks like all the church camps didn't coordinate very well and are all done at the end of this month, so it will be on to a karate camp for a week, then there is a cool kids chef camp at this local cooking place where they even have a lunch on the last day where the parents come in and the kids serve them lunch that they cook themselves (expensive, but as much as he enjoys helping me cook, I think he will love it)
After that it looks like it's back to either the karate place or just ride along with me
