Our daughter's name is Elizabeth and we call her Ellie. We just found out we are having a boy, but our next girl name was going to be Emma. Girl names were a lot harder for us.
My wife and I occasionally kick around girls names and she suggested Taylor recently. I was all, "no no no." I like it as a name, but not for my daughter.
We wanted a normal classic girls so we went with Caroline. The other option was Charlotte, I wasn't a big fan of Charlotte then that was the princess name so glad we didn't go there.
Son is now 13 and was thinking something like this for christmas for him http://www.lowes.com/pd_506435-16878-56179_1z0wcfw__?productId=50193579&pl=1#img
My twins are named Gemma and Juliette. I, too, am a fan of guys names for girls but the Boss totally shut me down. I'm happy with the choices we came up with, on the day they decided to bust out 5 weeks early.
My son had his first doctor visit today and everything was great. Already back to his birth weight in only six days, his bilirubin levels are some of the lowest the doctor's ever seen according to her, and his temp, HR, and other vitals were all good. Really happy he's so healthy as he came out with the cord wrapped around his neck a solid three times and he had to be suctioned out. I've also been pissed on twice by him, so that's neat too.
Do you guys like: Carter Cragg Cooper Cragg Parker Cragg We have 2 weeks left and can't narrow 3 names down to one.
Parenthood: when you're covered in vomit, piss, blood, and feces and you're like "yup...it's Tuesday."
We had our first child on Halloween, a baby girl named Maura (Mar-uh). She was 8lbs 9oz 21in. She and my wife are doing great. I don't think my reaction was any different than the rest of the dads in this thread, just absolutely in love.
Sequential screening came back about as positive as we could ask for. Her doctor feels confident everything is okay.
Friends just named their boy Cooper, I'd say that is the best option. Carter seems awfully popular these days. Don't care for Parker.
Our son turns 1 on Sunday. We are dealing with ear infection number 8/9. I can't decide whether to classify this as the same one or a new one as the last. He was diagnosed with an ear infection in one ear a week ago last Sunday and finished his Zithromax (antibiotic) last Thursday. It is supposed to stay in his system for 5 days (so until today). He seemed better Wed-Sat but by Sunday night he was acting like he was possessed by a demon every time we tried to lay him in the crib. It is now in both ears and looks much worse than it did last Sunday. It is so painful to listen to him cry on "those nights" and I'm so sick of trying to put antibiotics in him. Thankfully he is getting tubes next Tuesday. It can't come soon enough. /coolstorybro
My wife had tubes put in as a kid and her parents say it's the best thing they ever did. Good luck friend.
Tubes are awesome. My parents waited forever to get them for my brother so when my daughter started getting ear infections they basically told me to get them and get them now.
If/when we have a 2nd kid I'm going to see if the Dr can just go ahead and do them after the first ear infection. So much easier....and the surgery was nbd
My wife is never allowed to quit her job, the insurance is too good. I think our deductible is like $600
She'll be 5 months on Sunday. Yesterday was her first time in a walker (she's 95% for height). Had me all
The boy has started talking quite a bit. He's clearly delayed, but preschool and speech therapy are doing the trick. Said his name and age today in school, which is the first time for both.
Man I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. I know it's cliche as hell, but this is going by too quickly
Going to be a dad tomorrow. Wife went for a check up and 6 hours later they decide to induce at 6 am due to her high blood pressure. Game changing day.
Was flying through the Minneapolis Airport on Monday. Took the boy with me to the bathroom. Tried to get him to go pee in the stall, but he staunchly refused. Well, I still had to go so I told him to stand behind me and wait. Well, that didn't work and he comes up along side me and has to watch. In a crowded airport bathroom: "Dad, you'se haffa big wiener" Me giggling "Thanks bud." ""You'se haffa lot of pee." "Yup" really excited: "Dad, you make lots of bubbles!" "alright bud, let's get out of here."
Proud papa at that moment. A younger me may have been embarrassed by this public exchange but I thought it was fucking hilarious. It took all I had not to just bust out laughing
Got a call saying that my 5 year old Kindergartner is getting bumped up to a 1st grade reading group because he's reading at almost a 2nd grade level Also one of our grown twins got promoted to E3 yesterday
I get to skype with my daughters class on Wednesday for Veterans Day. It should be fun. I'm glad they're 5 though, so I'm not expecting any in depth questions. I feel older kids would be able to tell I'm being deliberately vague.
Wait, this will be your second set of twins?! I remember you saying older kids but another set of twins!
yep. This will be the first time dealing with baby twins though since we didn't get the boys until they were older. So I'm still terrified
This has been a long day. Moved the delivery room at 7am and she has been in pain and I have just been sitting or walking around the hospital for the last 10.5 hours. Getting closer though.
