We had T (which was a coach throwing then the T of you didn’t hit it in 3) in k-2, pitching machine (3rd-4th) and player pitch (started in 5th grade) My son started with T in K, pitching machine (T if you strike out) with coach pitch only if the machine doesn’t work in 1st-2nd and then in 3rd grade goes to player pitch.
don't pre buy one. wait til the first month or two and see if you think your kid needs it. Some kids are just awesome sleepers. Then don't buy one. Rent it. You can do it straight through Snoo.
My dude turns 3 weeks tomorrow. He's our first, so we really have no idea what a good sleeper looks like.
If you get desperate a few months in and find nothing else works then it may be worth trying. I have friends that swear it's a miracle device but that wasn't our experience. I tend to think their kid is just a good sleeper.
This worked for our first. This one (4 days old, 3 hour stretches) sleeps great through the day but at night wants to be on our chest. Moms taking night shifts while I deal with toddler. If we could get her to sleep in the bassinet at night we will be golden.
Well I brought it up to my wife around the same time as I mentioned it on here, so naturally it'll be here in the next week or two. Went with the rental of course.
definitely worth the flyer if you're only renting. if you find you (really your wife) really loves the product you may consider buying one and use for other kids.
It worked wonders for my kid but I have friends that hated it. Seems very hit or miss. I rented mine, probably will again if we have another kid. I’d probably recommend doing that so you can see if they like it.
First few weeks/ couple months is a shitshow for sleep. Ideally the kid will transition to needing fewer night feeds and sleeping without needing to be help. I’m a huge fan of sleep sacks or that baby Merlin thing probably is good too. Anything that helps keep the kid warm and also gives some slight compression to calm them down.
We have been traveling for the past 12 hours. My 2 year old is having a meltdown on this final flight. 6 month old and 4 year old have absolutely killed it.
We haven't flown with our daughter since she was 2. She's 5 now and we have a cross country flight in a couple months for a wedding. Not looking forward to it but at least she doesn't mind watching stuff on the iPad now.
When my now 4 year old was 2, he beat the shit out of my wife and I for 5 hours on a red eye. Worst flying experience ever. This trip he has been locked into his kindle every flight and been a breeze.
Yes. Too old to sleep easily, too active to not be moving, short attention span, and too young for a kindle.
Will be doing a 4 hour flight with a 13 month old next month. We’re nervous. Didn’t buy her own seat.
Feel like there is a really tough age between like 77 weeks and 150-200weeks. Pre 1 they can't move that much and many just happy with being held. 1-3 they don't want to sit still. 2.5 was our best flight since 1. Was content watching phone/Tab for 30-45 min stretches. Actually fell asleep each flight. We really want to travel further than Central America, but not sure when we'll hit true long haul flights
If you can afford it, I'd buy a seat for them. It just gives you extra room. If it's short enough and they like their car seat, you can. Bring that on the plane
If your kid is between 1 and 3.5, buy a seat and bring a car seat on. It’s the best piece of advice I can give about traveling with kids. On both of our flights yesterday saw kids without seats having complete meltdowns. At least our 2.5 year old was strapped in and not causing chaos besides crying and yelling.
ours went on the first plane trip last month to disney and did well, but theyre 4 and 8 so pretty agreeable in most cases as long as there is sufficient entertainment. the most entertaining part was them shouting the whole time because they felt like they couldnt hear with the ears popping
Wife & I traveled a ton before kids and didn't want that to stop. Also something we want to continue doing to create memories/instill that joy of travel into our son. Overall it hasn't been too bad. We've had 1 really bad flight where he fought sleep for 3 of 4 hours of a flight. Lots of flight is constantly tell him "No, don't do that" or trying to corral a ball of energy who just wants to move around. Haven't been brave enough to try anything over 4 or 5 hours. Time change is probably a big issue too going far east/west. I'm flying to El Salvador solo in about 8 weeks and can't fucking wait to just sit there in 1st class for 4 hours, watch a movie or two, and not having to bother with a child.
i don't think flying with one kid is that big of a deal. i fucked up and kept on reproducing and I would rather just drive down to the coast than get all my spawn onto an airplane.
My three year old has been on more flights than he is months old. Flying between 0-1 was easy. We breast fed exclusively so we would just board at the last second and start feeding immediately. He’d fall asleep by the time we were taking off and if it was under two hours typically sleep the whole time. 1-2 was awful for flying since they want to be mobile constantly. We found out the best thing was to bring as many things to snack on as possible and also bring small presents for them to open as getting something new was more exciting than exploring the plane. After two it’s easy again, just give him headphones and Paw Patrol and he’s entertained for hours.
Wife has flown with our kid twice in his 2 years and said he was fine on the plane and just a little bit of wanting to run around in the airport which really surprised me he didn’t do more.
This baby gets the hiccups so damn much. No matter what amount she eats gets them for 5-10 minutes. In middle of a 3-4 hour sleep will get them and sometimes they wake her up. Didn’t deal with this with last kid.
I've flown with both of my kids a few times. The only time it's been rough is when we had a ridiculously long weather delay. My oldest is the type who needs to get up and move his body, and I wanted so bad for them to have a place for him to run sprints.
Wife and I are both getting our asses kicked by some stupid illness. Kids had colds but nothing more than congestion. We’re down with congestion, fever, chills, aches. All COVID tests have been negative, but the one time we want them to binge Disney+, they suddenly have no interest. this is fun
I'm fearing my son will get kicked out of his daycare. Thought he had his biting under control but a but relapse. Had to have a conference today. He's biting multiple kids a day. Is now being sent home after the 2nd incident....like what the fuck is that going to help!?!?!? They claim its out of excitement or rough playing vs aggressive or frustration. Need to get through to this meathead. No kids at home so I can't really do shit
Our daughter did it when she was excited and not angry. We just had to eventually completely overreact like we were losing a limb and then giving her time-outs. I'm sure you've already tried something equivalent, but it is a phase and I think is easier to deal with than if he was biting out of anger.
The worst. I have a 103.5f fever; wife has low grade and the kids have decided to turn the place into a bounce haus
Yeah, the issue is he only does it at school so it's hard for is to correct. Daycare seems kinda helpful but sending them home doesn't help shit
Sending them home is very standard. Sucks but it is what it is. You’d be pissed if a kid was biting your kid 4-5 times a day and daycare didn’t intervene.
