Had our 20 week ultrasound on our first today. Everything healthy and he's running a week or more ahead in size (had IVF, so know the exact date). Little fucker gonna be a big one.
Anybody else's kids obsessed with a video game called Bendy and the Ink Machine? They've never played it, but the keep watching videos about it. Didn't think too much of it because this is what Bendy looks like: But holy shit! This game is dark as fuck! It's like Bioshock except it's inside an old animation studio and there's demonic shit.
My girl turns 2 in Aug. Yesterday, we went fishing. She caught several small brim. One I swear she set the hook on. One of my proudest moments.
Yeah, something to think about. She's been really dialed into staying active and working out along with eating pretty well. The fertility clinic we were going to got really combed through and improved her health through the process even though she was healthy active girl. Brings up a good question to ask at our next appointment because whenever our doc asks us what questions we have we never have anything that pops up.
we have summer infant video monitor and have had no problems with it. we also got a cheap one that was audio only given to us that we take on vacation with us. so we dont have to take down the good one we have mounted.
Never heard of that one it but I post to commiserate about the trend of watching people play video games on youtube that you, yourself, do not own and have never played.
Sub Zero Babality is 5 months now. Pretty much a great baby - sleeps through the night, good at daycare... For daycare I have drop-off duty as our morning routine and it sucks because every single day I am stricken by sudden fear he is still in my car. Even though I have never come close to forgetting him or anything like that. But there's 5 seconds every day I stop, don't breathe, and have to remind myself I dropped him off. I hate this.
Once, when my now-11-year-old was an infant, I drove past his daycare and towards my work. I only got a block or two past it when I had the same panic attack (and then it repeated almost every day as I walked from my car through the parking lot or as soon as I got to my desk). The one change I made that really helped was leaning my laptop bag against the car seat every morning as I loaded up the car. After that I could think to myself, "I have my laptop and when I grabbed it from the backseat, the carseat was definitely empty" and it would help.
I did drive by once actually but I because I was talking to him and just flew by the daycare. So I didn't forget he was in my car really. but thats a great idea. I put his daycare stuff in my front seat but you're right that would work better.
what are you using for hooks? the 3 year old loves to "fish" but I aint brave enough to give him a real hook yet with the way he is careless and throws it around (he is a casting machine though) he started to figure it out recently with older cousins around who had real hooks and he wanted one like their bad
I used a #8. She didnt get near the hook. I baited, cast, and removed the catch. She sometimes set the hook and did the reeling.
ahh, teaching him to cast is where I screwed up little sucker can cast that plastic fish on his little pole the full length of the driveway, started setting buckets out for targets
I'm just worried my coaching style more resembles Bob Knight before anger management. But, my kid admittedly sucks at soccer, so he may not play much without some intervention.
having a 3 year old boy who wants to help with everything i do, especially anything outside, makes mowing the lawn unnecessarily difficult
Got one of these for my daughter for Christmas and she hates it, she just turned 3 and she has no desire to ride it. For her birthday earlier this month we got her a normal big girl bike with training wheels and she's never been happier. Still hoping she'll give this one a shot eventually to learn balance.
We're the same. Won't use that damn thing at all but will go for miles with the regular bike and training wheels.
If you have iPhones and or iPad. There is a $5 Baby Monitor app that we used even for our home. Can connect over Bluetooth or wifi. Nice option that requires nothing additional if you already own the phones/iPad. Just set one to baby and one to parent.
I'm ok wth it as long as they don't skip cutscenes or provide running commentary. Or worse, bad running commentary.
Funny, our 6 week old was unphased, but that might be every baby at that age. This was also two days after my wife had a lady from MomsOnCall come and basically lay down the law about setting a schedule to get her to sleep through the night better. It's insane how quickly she's now sleeping much better at night, for 3.5-4 hour stretches instead of waking up every 2 hours and taking forever to get to sleep again. She gave us a huge blanket (really tried to sell that this specific type of fabric instead of the Muslin ones was the truth) and showed how to really swaddle her, which almost worked instantly. I'm so much a happier dad after not having to wake up 3+ times during the night if I'm doing the night shift.
Just some service where we had a lady come out for a few hours and lay down everything for new parents. The lady is a pediatric nurse. We also get email access to her for a year. Probably not with the money for more confident parents but we we're getting beat down, especially at night.
4th of July is the fucking worst with young kids. My 3 year old was not into the fireworks at all and they were going off all night.
haven't posted here in a while. my kid turns 1 in a few days. wow time has flown by. the last month has been amazing. he went from walking a few steps in early June to full out walking/running and climbing by the 11 1/2 month mark. my wife found him on top of our kitchen table last week. no fucking clue how it happened.
A little over a month, and I think we've got the transition from 2 to 3 down. Luckily the baby sleeps like a champ at night, 4 hours or so between eating.
ours started climbing pretty young and now at 2.5 just wants to jump off of everything. wife was a gymnast all growing up, so I blame her.
When my wife first started working at the hospital one of her first 'big' cases was a hot car kid death, completely normal working family, so it can happen. When our daughter was small she'd text me every single day when leaving dropping her off and mention something about the school or teacher or something that way she knew she had actually been in there. It seems kind of silly, but it works.
Curious who has the most kids on TMB? I've got 4 due in November. Anyone else in the 4 or more category? #diaperisalwaysdirty
4th of July was rough. Separate question... Curious who has the most kids on TMB? I've got 4 due in November. Anyone else in the 4 or more category? #diaperisalwaysdirty ***edit tried to do separate posts, fucked it up.
