What do we do when Romo comes back? I know they are saying it's Romo as the starter when he's back, but what happens if they are actually 9-1 or 8-2? Then this off-season what goes on. Romo is not getting younger and he has shown the past 4 years he's going to miss games. I'd shop him around and see what you can get. Need to improve the defense and fill some holes.
If they continue to play like this I don't see why risk putting in Romo and possibly killing the mojo
Zeke is the only back in the league averaging a 100 yard day. On pace for 1747 yards and 16 TDs. I know he will more than likely not get there but man, he is everything I hoped he would be. The whole Romo vs. Dak thing is really crazy. When Tony first got hurt I was hoping we would limp to .500 and see enough to know Dak could be the guy going forward. I never thought in a million years it would even be hard to ask Dak to sit down. But damn, every week it gets harder and harder. Part of me even secretly thinks "well, its win win because best case Tony lights it up like its 2014 and worst case he gets hurt again and Dak goes right back in." Its insane. To see the offense do what its doing without Tony OR Dez Bryant is incredible. We don't have anyone that could even come close to being considered a #1 WR on the field but we are killing it. If Tony wants to take an extra week off and let Dak play Philly/use Cleveland instead of Philly for his return game (i.e. tune up game), I will not be upset at all
regardless of how anyone feels about him Terrance Williams has come up big time the past couple of games
I just feel like the alternative is letting him walk. In this hypothetical, he plays like this all year. We can either tag him and pay him like 12 mil a year or SOMEONE will give him a 5 year deal. Pro Bowl corners get paid. Hes a year younger than Norman. No way we match a long term deal for him so I personally would rather cough up the 12 and see if he can do it 2 years in a row and then see if we can convince him to sign a team friendly deal.
http://www.12up.com/posts/3940244-s...d-working-out-with-cowboys-legend?a_aid=40701 Randy Gregory (who I know is a fuck up but I still believe has a ton of talent) working with Charles Haley errday
are we sure it's a good idea to have a guy with mental instabilities work with a guy with mental instabilities on a daily basis?
I feel like its a low risk, high reward play. Worst case scenario, he doesn't help Gregory and we pretty much get exactly what we have gotten: a guy that most people have already written off. Best case scenario, the time Gregory has spent in rehab etc. will have paid off and the time he spends with Haley will give him some new tools in the pass rush. I don't think we have much to lose when it comes to him
I don't even care about this year, I just want Jaylon Smith to be able to play at some point. ...But this year would be amazing
I know it's going to happen, but putting Romo back in at starter is fucking dumb. You don't mess with things when they're going good. Especially in the NFL.
Do y'all really think Dak is better than healthy Romo right now? I think it's a win-win because Dak is extremely poised for a rookie (hell he is poised compared to a 15 year veteran), but he doesn't exactly stretch the field
It's hard to argue against that. If Dak continues to play I won't be upset, because he is fucking good, but if we struggle at all I think we need to put in Romo. I definitely think Romo is going in regardless though. And if he struggles they need to be willing to go back to dak I have zero concerns about "losing the locker room". And I'm not concerned about Dak being able to handle temporarily losing the starting job
Dak's winning, better still the chemistry with the starters seems to be growing with each game, the guy just keeps performing...phenomenally. Even when starters have went down, Dez gets gimpy...no problem, weak side of the line goes down...again no problem. Nothing against Romo, but he doesn't have the mobility Dak does, and realistically is one solid hit from handicapped parking...
Dak doesn't stretch the field because that super conservative fucker Garrett tells Linehan to keep the handcuffs on him & not let him get too crazy. It's gonna be interesting to see what happens when Romo comes back & throws one of his patented dumbfuck interceptions...hopefully the crowd at least has enough sense not to boo the hell out of him.
Seriously. We have one of the most devastatingly efficient offenses in the game, no need to go deep and risk turning the ball over. The formula works. It's not like they're only throwing screen passes.
Yeah this isn't what we saw with Brandon Weeden on the field. THAT is not stretching the field. Dak doesn't throw the bomb but like others have said, we havent been in a situation that really calls for it. Plus scoring fast is not necessarily a good idea for us. A perfect game with our offense is 4 10+ minute drives that end in scores and limit the other team to only a couple opportunities to respond. Thus far our defense has done a good job (outside of the first quarter against San Fran). I think a lot of opinions will be either changed or confirmed by the game tomorrow. If Dak goes out there and puts in ridiculous work, the voices will grow louder. If we win an ugly one on the ground and he throws a pick, most of the talk about benching Romo permanently will end
I was responding to his comment that Dak doesn't exactly stretch the field, which I took to mean he thinks Dak isn't capable of stretching the field
That TD pass to end the half was awesome. I liked seeing Dak have some issues and show he could rebound, strange as that sounds. He is so composed Our coaching has been phenomenal this year as well
Well Dak stretched the field tonight, but also threw a dumb fuck interception. I think we should keep playing Dak until he struggles at this point. when he dropped that deep ball into butler, i was sold. I don't think it will be the travesty most will make it out to be if Romo comes in though, because Romo is really fucking good and probably still a better QB
There are going to be times where it doesn't work, and if our QB can't or won't stretch the field and take risks that will be a problem. Our offensive line isn't going to completely overwhelm every single team we play like it has the past couple of weeks. Dak showed he could go deep today. He took some chances and it paid off. We are going to need for him to keep that up.
I think the only way it would be a travesty is if they put Romo in, he plays like shit, but Robot Garrett won't pull him & put Dak back in.
Well, he's my favorite player. But if you would take the time to read, I literally just said they should keep playing Dak until he struggles. Aren't you a Browns fan now? What are you doing in here?
