It was ugly but not entirely his fault Dak threw that deep ball week 1 or 2 to butler that was on the money, not sure why people didn't think he could. We just haven't needed to That one deep ball to butler on 2nd and 8 was both a beautiful throw and a great play call, butler needs to haul that one in Dak 2016

Good news is both coordinators have failed spectacularly as head coaches so I don't see either one being tempted to leave for a promotion.

Exactly, watching the D-Line rush it's like "almost...almost...damn" a really good pass rush DE (like we'd hoped Gregory would be) would be lethal. Not knocking what Marinelli's done thus far though, fucker should be Def. Coach of the year candidate at this pace. Jaylon, kid seems to have a lot of heart from what I've read, really hoping the talk of him joining the squad before the season ends isn't just hype...

Also and didn't mean to seem neglectful of: but holy fucking shit is Zeke a beast, pre draft reports were saying he was basically the second coming of Edgerrin James, but Imo Zeke is faster and is just beautifully violent when he runs, there were a few times yesterday before he started breaking free, where he was dragging the pile with him... Remembering Emmitt Smith said during pre-season "He's better than I was.." coming out of the NCAA's... At the time I was but damn if Mr. Smith wasn't shitting anyone by a stretch...
Man there were SO many people that were mad we took Zeke and wanted Ramsey (Ramsey is a great player but wouldn't have had NEAR the impact Zeke is right now) and those voices got even louder after the first game when Zeke wasn't being patient with his runs and was held to like 50 and a TD. Now he is not only looking like a great rookie, hes playing like the best back in the league. If things keep trending like they have, this could be one of our best draft classes of all time. Zeke is insane, could win Rookie of the Year. Dak in the 4th, future starter and absolutely killing it. Malik Collins has been great at the DT spot. Anthony Brown, who has done a great job this year stepping in for the injured Scandrick in the slot went out to the outside with Mo getting hurt and played GREAT at the CB spot. If Jaylon Smith is as good as advertised, this class is insane.
Well the argument with Zeke wasn't that he wouldn't be great for us, its that we are using a top 5 pick on a player who you will be pretty nervous about giving a second contract because of the position he plays. Zeke may be one of those freaks who can sustain the pounding an NFL RB takes for 7-8+ years and still be highly productive, but we can't really determine that yet. But short term, fantastic pick, he's probably the best RB in the league. And the rest of the draft has been amazing as well.
Yeah ill agree with that. Hopefully he can stay healthy. I wouldnt mind cutting down on his carries a little when the game is pretty well in hand. Yesterday up 2 scores we should have had Alf in there doing the short yardage stuff. Honestly, we have drafted really well lately. Obviously Mo was really disappointing for several years but if he has really turned the corner (big question i know, its just hypothetical) then our last 7 first round picks have been home runs
Anthony Brown, have to give accolades to Linehan's play calling yesterday. That jet sweep to Lucky was epic...Packers were completely sold on a Zeke dive...and glad they let Dak throw a deep one...Butler should've had that one, though I won't bitch about it as the TD he caught was a crystalline play from start to finish...

Just so many carries to go around, but am aboard with Morris getting a few more carries as well as Jackson. If it helps any, remembering back when Emmitt started and the way he ran "thinking damn, 4 or 5 years like this and he'll be wrecked" then 15 years later...etc... In mentioning O'l 22 Zeke seems also to get stronger as the game goes on. Wonder how Old Bones McFadden will enter the mix if at all when again ready...
I read a report earlier this season that said the cowboys got multiple offers to trade McFadden but chose to keep him. That might have been BS trying to drum up some interest in him but idk. It doesn't seem like he has much of a spot given Zeke's success, Alf's ability, and what we saw of Jackson in preseason
Yes Sir, doesn't seem like there is really a place for him, eapecially with 6 Backs on the roster already, am thinking McFaddens injury history makes him kind of a "uh oh" in trade value. A 1k Back with no where to put him is quite the conundrum, have been trying to remember a time going back to the days of Staubach when The Boys have remotely had quality depth at the pos. They simply haven't... Perhaps the brain trust's thinking was that by the time he was healthy, someone else would be in dire need of a back...
Well around the time they were rejecting trade offers, Zeke was a rookie sitting out of significant practice and preseason workout time with hamstring (I think?) issues, Morris is coming off several years of declining production, Dunbar is coming off an ACL, and Jackson hadn't shown what he did in the preseason yet. The depth at the position wasn't such a sure thing yet.
Additionally, you just came off a 4-12 season that cascaded in large part due to a lack of depth. The organization was committed to making sure there was as much depth as possible across the board. That's why you've got DMC still in the organization behind what's now clearly an elite stable of backs, and it's why Leary didn't get traded for whatever picks other teams offered. It was shrewd and overall the strategy is working, even if they now could have been in a marginally better position if they had gotten a draft asset for DMC.

Oh most definitely. We do way better when expectations are low. The good thing is that at this particular moment they seem very focused on the matter at hand. Every week they have really focused on preparation and it shows on the field. I just hope this bye week doesnt give them too much time to read their own headlines. The bye comes at a really good time. Allows us to get Mo and Dez back on the field. Hopefully we just stay focused and ball out on the Eagles at home. I bought tickets to my first Cowboys game last week :) Going to be sitting 18 rows from the field at the 45 yard line behind the Dallas bench against the Ravens on Nov. 20th. If we somehow roll in there 8-1 its gonna be so hype

Yeah man I have only ever been for college/high school games so the real deal is gonna be amazing. I will be taking a bunch of sweet pictures of Zeke and company. Totally agree. They could show up randomly against us (e.g. Thanksgiving 2014). Hopefully we will be healthy the lack of Lane Johnson will continue to cause problems

Watching the Phi Slamma Jamma 30 for 30. They keep reiterating that "you can't give these guys too much time off between games to think about how good they have been doing." Makes me nervous about Philly. Perfect trap game. They have lost 2 straight. The hype surrounding our team is peaking. The bye week, while awesome for giving us a chance to get healthy, gives our guys 14 days to think about how great they have been thus far. I really really hope Garrett can keep them zeroed in. We have a good presence of veteran guys on the team and even the younger guys and rookies I feel like are pretty mature so I'm not too concerned about that as others. The Philly game will be tough regardless if there was a bye or not
Losing this game won't define the season. The east will come down to December. Remember losing to them on thanksgiving in '14? It was just a blip on the radar.
