Who on our defense is untouchable? VanderE ?
get rid of the whole defense and try again
dlaw, jaylon, LVE, diggs aren’t going anywhere
LVE is never going to play a full 16 game season again.
The only person on defense I really even care to see develop is Diggs, who I think shows flashes of being serviceable when not getting burnt like toast as you would expect of a rookie with zero help around him. Otherwise, its a wash.
I was looking at PFF grades yesterday and two takeaways:
I've never seen so many guys on one defense grade in the 30-55 range. Holy shit.
Tank was grading out elite and I just don't see it. Outside of Tank the only other defender grading out above 60 were Xavier Woods and Aldon Smith lmao.
Randy Gregory to the rescue
This really all went down hill after Jeff Heath, the heart and soul of this franchise, was shown the door. We should have known
LVE is the new Sean Lee. He is our mascot in workout clothes.
LVE's neck is pieced together with the same toothpicks and dental floss they were using to keep Romo's back together
Guys we don’t want to lose. I know some have big contracts no one will want but if we could trade them and someone is dumb enough to take them
In that case it’s just diggs for me
If someone is dumb enough to offer something good for Cooper that would be nice. We would take a 8 million cap hit but turn in to a 12 million dollar net gain. The Sanu trade gives me hope somebody would pull the trigger.
At this point I’m all for a complete rebuild, year it down and starting trading guys off and stockpile draft picks.
I want to do this to Zeke so bad I can't stand it.
Burn it down.
Pretty sure Coop would be a 28 mil hit to the cap if he traded him since he just signed and has a 40 mil dead cap number and 12 mil cap hit this season
Sorry, it will be a 12 million gain on the 2021 cap.
Even though Cooper signed a five-year, $100 million contract, it’s really a two-year, $40 million deal. If someone would offer them a first-rounder for Cooper right now (last year, Mohamed Sanu brought in a second-round pick at the deadline), the Cowboys would be crazy to say no.
“But what about the cap consequences?” you may ask. Trading Cooper would trigger an $8 million charge in 2021, but it would be offset by avoiding $20 million in cash and cap space — creating a $12 million net-cap gain for the Cowboys in 2021.
I would say we don't have anyone on the roster currently that's off limits. I can't imagine someone coming after Coop or Zeke though.
Yeah, I was looking at potential playoff teams that need a WR and can't really find anyone that needs one bad enough to give up anything of value for Cooper.
A third or fourth round pick would be enough value for me to shed Cooper’s deal with Lamb, Gallup, and Wilson still here and cheap
I would settle for a third. Just get out from under a bad deal and start over. That first rounder means nothing at this point.
I never liked paying Cooper that much anyway. He tends to disappear in big games.
Coop is 2nd in receptions and 5th in yards so far this year. Surely thats attractive enough for a 3rd and a conditional pick
Ben DiNucci is a Madden Tik Tok legend
Can not hear his name without thinking of Beavis saying "Bonaduce! Bonaduce!" over and over again.
Who the fuck is that
Do we break 150 yards of total offense against the Steelers?
Do we hold the Steelers under 50?
This is going to be a fucking disaster.
In true Cowboy fashion Andy Dalton does probably pull the unthinkable and upset the Steelers giving everyone hope for the remaining season only to be let down and go 4-12.
Draft a qb trade fake for draft capital
Lost in the sauce of this week is Gucci was benched.
starting Rush or Garrett Gilbert
Because "we need more experience at the position". What experience does Rush have?
Knows the playbook I guess?
I suppose but we could probably put Mahomes out there and find a way to lose right now.
Would have been nice for this kind of defense to show up on Week 1
Neville Gallimore playing the game of his life
Oh my god I love it
What the fuck Coop
That's called "The Rutgers".
Caught OSU with their pants down with the exact same play yesterday. Unfortunately (according to idiot homer announcers and tmb fans) we can never use it or the other half dozen trick plays we used yesterday because everyone will always be ready for them 100% of the time.
You shouldn’t get rewarded for false starting like that smfh
The boys surprised the hell out of me today
After next season we can jettison Amari Cooper and get 16 mil in space, Zeke for an additional 5.7 mil, Jaylon for another 5 mil. Less likely to go but you'd have to think about it....cutting Tank yields 8 mil, and if still not healthy Tyron Smith is just shy of 10 mil and La'el would be 4.8.
So you dog it the rest of the year, sign Dak to another tag, add a huge draft class worth of new players, give McCarthy one more chance to make this a winning team with a full offseason and then you can make the decision which direction you want to go after 2021.
But feasibly you could just hit the complete reset button then and let Dak walk and have $110-130 mil in cap space to completely start over. Or pay Dak and have 35-40 mil less.
We arent far off, with some decent picks. I would rebuild the OL and the middle of the defense. Take our top 5 pick and trade back to load up on futures. I want to have a Patriots style draft with 10 picks and let camp sort it out
We already have that without trading back because of comp picks. We've got a 3, 4, 5, and 6 comp pick I believe from Byron Jones, Quinn, Witten, and Cobb going elsewhere. We've picked up a 5 with the Griffen trade but had already traded away our 5 and 6 (Tyler Biadasz and Michael Bennett).
Moreso, I mean in the top 3 rounds. This regime has shown they can draft well in the last 4 years
It's been kind of hit or miss. 2017 was a mediocre draft and 2019 was weak just because of a lack of draft capital. 2016, 2018, and 2020 are strong though IMO.
Hopefully that trend of odd year drafts being ass doesn't hold.
