Ok man, it's a free country for now. You do your thing. Best of luck with all of the great writing currently being showcased in all of the shitshow movies throughout the DC catalogue. MARTHA
There's only been two films since 2012. You could post evidence backing your full-fledged opinions, or continue to call people 'dumbfucks.'
Evidence? Have you seen any of these films? Anyway, I think we're firmly in "agree to disagree" territory here. If you like this shit then good for you. No skin off my nose. I hope they finally are forced into blowing the whole thing up and starting over at some point, but the reality is that they will continue to make money no matter how terrible the films are simply based upon the cultural allure of the characters. And as Suicide Squad proved, they can edit the fuck out of a preview even if the movie itself sucks dick.
I've obviously seen them. Can you tell me why besides using words like 'sucks' and 'retarded' to describe the films? Yes, evidence. There's a huge difference in knowing and proving. You can say it's your opinion the movies have bad writing, but I would like to see a critics perspective. If the majority of well-respected critics said the writing was poor then that makes sense. But you coming on here and name-calling others for doing the exact same thing you are saying is a bit contradicting.
Are you sure we're talking about the same movies? I'm talking about the ones that have like 20-30% scores on RT.....the site that amalgamates critic scores. Most critics have taken extreme shits on these movies so far for obvious reasons, writing being chiefly among them. You really have to go out of your way Gigli-style to score in the 20s/30s on RT. And for the record I was sarcastically quoting Fusion's use of the word "retarded". I don't like the word and have been critical of it on here in the past. It's normally an ironic indicator that the person you're conversing with who is presumably not clinically disabled is nonetheless not very bright, so we're on the same page there at least. It's also horribly offensive to people with disabilities.
Haha yeah totally. I mean I can see how people would like the movie, there were just parts I didn't enjoy personally. I miss the superhero movies where it was just the hero v the villain.
Critics main problem it seems was that the plot was too convoluted, with many plot holes. Here's the main problem with any comic book film released in D.C. world - everything is going to be held to a high standard such as The Dark Knight. Which is not a fair comparison at all. That movie imo is the greatest superhero film made to date, and arguably should have been nominated for Best Picture.
Iron Man was definitely a B-level superhero at Marvel before the 2008 movie. Terrible logic. Just because he wrote another movie that won an Oscar doesn't mean Terrio's DC film wasn't poorly written. The script for BvS was a mess.
Before the movie Iron Man was on par with Green Lantern. Fans knew him, mainstream people had no idea or at best knew OF him but nothing else.
DC couldn't catch a break. Man of Steel BvS Suicide Squad All mediocre films. Nothing spectacular. I enjoyed watching them, but none left me leaving saying, 'wow' like the Nolan trilogy.
I would imagine WB would let him out. Having an actor in a lead role he doesn't want especially for a "universe" would be bad for so many reasons.
how is DC so subpar compared to marvel with respect to the movie universes? like it's not even close the separation between the two. is feige that much of a stud?
Dc films are an extension of WBs movie division. It's a corporate thing with too many suits overseeing things and focus testing things to death. Disney owns Marvel but they operate with almost unilateral jurisdiction. Their philosophy is "here's a basic list of rules everyone has to abide by, beyond that do what makes money." That's why everything from Disney animation to Pixar to Star Wars and Marvel all have wildly different feels yet are all high quality. The people in charge are creative types who try to make what's good not management types who try to make what they think is popular.
Let Crazy Mel take over the entire DCEU If he can get some charisma out of Henry Cavill, then just give him the best directing Oscar.
Shut it down, bring back Bale, Nolan, and Caine. #billions The girl that plays Wonder Woman can stay.
It's pretty clear WB just wants a by-the-numbers director who has no vision and will do what the studio wants. They're trying to rush this movie into production despite having a shitty script because it's Batman and they think it'll make money no matter what. I'm going to laugh when they end up hiring Snyder
I didn't despise Batman vs. Superman as much as I thought I would. Lex was remarkably bad, but I didn't hate it otherwise :| Of course, it was a steaming pile of turd compared to Begins, but save for Winter Soldier, almost all of them are.
I split time between this thread and the Trumpocalypse thread. I'm not sure which makes me madder/sadder.
And this is basically because, at the end of the day, it was still a Batman movie...and who doesn't fucking love Batman movies?
Yeah, and I don't hate this Superman as much as everyone seems to. A lot of times I find I'll like a movie that is panned and be underwhelmed by one that is hyped. Maybe I'm just a hipster doofus.
