Joe Manganiello appeared on Pittsburgh Today Live this past week to promote his role in the new “The Smurfs” movie and revealed that he’s now unsure as to whether he’ll still suit up as Deathstroke for Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”. The comments come following a crazy week for the film production with the film’s star and former director announcing that he had just completed a stint in alcohol rehab, and reports that the project was no longer on track to begin shooting this Spring with the script potentially undergoing a page one re-write. Manganiello has in recent weeks been quite adamant about his involvement in the film and indicated he’d begun training for the role, even as last month came word that his involvement was no longer a sure thing. Manganiello’s role in the video game adaptation “Rampage” is being seen as something of a minor compensation for all the kerfuffle. If the full re-write reports are correct, there could well be a new villain chosen to take on Affleck’s Dark Knight and until Reeves completes his script no-one is sure. Source: CBM
Late last week actor Joe Manganiello indicated he’s no longer certain about whether he’ll star in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” film. Now, J.K. Simmons is unsure if his Commissioner James Gordon will be a part of the action either. Simmons will make his debut in the role in this Fall’s “Justice League” and was asked in a recent interview with Screen Crush what’s next for him. He sounds hopeful to return to the role, even though he’s uncertain when that will be: “My part in the first film coming out this fall is very, very small… It’s a little introduction of the character. But whenever the next one gets off the ground, whether it’s ‘The Batman’ movie or the ‘Justice League’ sequel, and I know those things are getting shuffled around right now … we thought we might be getting to work pretty soon on ‘The Batman,’ but we’ll see what the future brings. Hopefully that’ll be another comic-book character that I get to take two or three or four cracks at.” “The Batman” was originally set to begin shooting in the next couple of months, but now seems unlikely to shoot until late 2017/early 2018 with the film not opening until sometime in 2019.
Not that Manganiello is the best actor, but Deathstroke could be a solid, physically imposing villain if done right. And they better keep Simmons as Gordon.
This entire Batman movie is going to have the same feeling as the Fantastic Four. Even before the film premiered we knew all of the crap that went on, and it hurt the ticket sales. Same will happen with Batfleck movie.
Holy shit, I never noticed this but they took the bottom scroll directly from Batman Begins. For some reason whoever made this (could be a fan, could be Doug Ellen) made weird minor changes like "Rutger Freman" and adding co-composer James Newton Howard to the cast. And I hate to say it but Christian Bale > Adrian Grenier. It's close tho
they're really putting all of their might into marketing. Was told Wonder Woman's script is bleh(why they lost Michelle MacClaren in the first place), but Chris Pine is terrific and his chemistry with Gadot is great.
Have zero expectations for any WB DC live action effort. Wonder Woman is clear they're trying to do their version of the first cap movie, and if they come anywhere close to that I'll be ecstatic.

This will undoubtedly be an excuse when JL underperforms. Who could've guessed that not having possibly the most recognizable of all comic book characters in promotions would hurt marketing? And I don't even like Superman/Faulkner

Not it is not. Marvel doesn't use its TV actors or even acknowledge them in their movies. They still think Coulson is dead. Sounds like a real\ connected Universe
I actually prefer what DC does to in this instance compared to Marvel. Basically, all their properties exist on different Earths throughout the Multiverse, to include the CW shows and the DCEU. I think that's a lot cleaner than what they have to do on shows like AoS when it comes to the MCU.
Thats false. Coulson, Fury and Sif have all been in both mediums. The show regularly references events in the movie universe. DC has a popular, well liked and established actor playing the Flash that could bring some familiarity to their movie universe.
Do the avengers know he is alive? He is the reason they came together. The movie universe has never acknowledge them. You think that Ironman would look into getting help from Luke Cage and DD instead of Highschool Spiderman during civil war since they were well known in NY.
