That looks amazing, and anyone who thinks otherwise can go fuck themselves. Snyder's visuals with Joss taking over to produce a finished product? How is that not a sell?
One of the advantages of DCEU getting such critical backlash is they are dropping a ton of videos and pictures on us. New trailer looks great. Still excited to see JL
Not sure they really teased Green Lantern there. It's the first mention of the Lanterns in this universe, but this isn't like Marvel, where you have worry about having access to certain properties. They'll certainly show at some point. As soon as DC feels they've adequately distanced themselves from the first atrocious attempt(which I admittedly have a guilty pleasure of watching when it comes on).
2011 would be considered eons in Hollywood. Worst part of the film is when Lantern is being 'trained.' Horrible.
DC can't help but blow their load early. Always Superman is obviously coming back but they should have kept it about the others Ezra is hilarious, but im so nervous about "flashpoint"
So Aquaman can yell "yeeehawww"as well as "hell yeah" like a dumbass. Jesus Christ who the fuck writes this shit for DC?
That's my point. I don't see Aquaman. I just see Momoa being the typical annoying Momoa that he is in everything he does. He's Aqua Dude-bro.
I get your point, but when the world's perception of a character is a worthless guy who talks to fish, you need to badass him up. If that means you have to see a guy playing himself, at least it toughens up a soft character. Plenty of actors play themselves in every movie. At least Mamoa improves his. It's like Avengers making Hawkeye tougher when he's a guy with a bow and arrow.
That look in BvS was when I thought that she really gets the WW character. Also holy shit I love her.
They do. Check this article out, what a Dad did for his daughter https://www.google.com/amp/m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_58093786e4b000d0b155c298/amp
I'm a big aquaman fan and I think mamoa is going to be awesome. Also really liked the new trailer. I'm Fully on board with setting myself up for disappointment
Yeah my first thought was "that's a bold move cotton" then I remembered Star Wars is going to back to May, which makes me sad.
Apparently the JL re-shoots are costing at least $25 million. Since it's Joss taking over, I think that $$$ figure is good news on the surface as he's probably implementing some big changes. They also now have to use CGI to remove the beard Cavill's grown for Mission Impossible.
The deleted and behind the scenes footage on the blu ray is going to look like a weird mexican knockoff film. I can't wait.
I enjoy blockbuster films released in December. It's a nice touch on the Star Wars film trailers when it says ... This Christmas. And Gal Gadot is one of the best xmas gifts Hollywood can give me.
WB doesn't give a fuck and are stubborn. But that last Star Wars film will be a summer blockbuster type I'm sure. There's a reason why Colin is attached (We can take this to the other thread lol)
fsuNizz Old news, but supposedly the Wachowski bros wrote a Plastic Man script years ago, with the idea of Bruce Campbell playing the part. How could one go about finding that script?
‘Wonder Woman’: Warner Bros. Plans Groundbreaking Oscar Campaign for Director, Best Picture With $781 million in global box office receipts, “Wonder Woman” has already broken records as the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman ever. Now Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, wants the action movie to break another glass ceiling. Although executives haven’t commented publicly on their plans, they have internally discussed launching a formidable awards-season campaign for the movie, in the hopes of making it the first comic-book film nominated for best picture, Variety has learned. The studio will also stump Patty Jenkins for best director, which would also be groundbreaking. No director of a comic-book film — not even Christopher Nolan — has ever been nominated, and only men have ruled the category since (and before) Kathryn Bigelow won the Oscar for “The Hurt Locker” in 2010. The awards-season race usually starts in the fall, though movies released earlier in the year — such as “Mad Max: Fury Road” — can make a comeback and rally with plenty of nominations. Many of the Academy Awards contenders in 2017 seem to be lower-budged films, such as Paramount’s “Downsizing” and “mother!,” Netlfix’s “Mudbound,” and Sony Pictures Classics’ “Call Me By Your Name.” With all the focus on “Wonder Woman,” Warner Bros. won’t be neglecting its other summer hit. Sources report to Variety that the studio will also be bringing out the guns for “Dunkirk” and its director Nolan. That means, in a year without a clear frontrunner, Warner Bros. will have two big studio movies trying to crush the competition. http://variety.com/2017/film/news/wonder-woman-oscars-patty-jenkins-gal-gadot-comic-book-1202509132/
I loved it, and I still mostly agree with you. With that said, it is a pretty weak pool so far this year. The film has a ton of positive momentum right now, and no one can really deny the cultural impact it has had when it comes to empowering women on screen. Oscar's love to play to the hype, and showcasing WW during the awards will be pretty tempting. And no, I'm not in any way saying it will win any major awards. I'm just saying anyone with a brain knows a lot of nominations are made simply for the wider impact of a film.
But too many good movies still coming out during "Oscar season" and the voters are huge recency bias types
