The fact that it did so average and Captain Marvel did so well shows that Marvel can put out a bag of garbage and people will pay a billion to stare at it.
I don’t think Captain Marvel was garbage, but I definitely enjoyed Shazam more. Zachary Levi was born to play that role.
I'm not saying the movie was garbage, I enjoyed it enough. I'm just saying (while totally deserved) Marvel movies are viewed as a collective when alot of those movies weren't very good. DC obviously hasn't earned that right and are crushed by Warner's involvement, but Shazam was better than a handful of Phase movies that did far better. That's on DC and Warner but it's true.
For sure. This is 100% fact. Put the Shazam movie in the MCU and it probably makes a billion dollars.
Should be getting the BoP trailer in the next couple of weeks. Casting and pics for The Suicide Squad as well.
It used to be just Detective Comics but they eventually dropped the name when they wanted to branch away from "detective" stories. They kept the initialism but lost the meaning. Basically they did the MTV thing before MTV
I don't think it'll be awful. I think it will either be very good thanks to Phoenix, or really tonally inconsistent and ending up a hot mess.
On the Joker movie I think it will be a good film. But a substantial part of the public will shit on it because it will lack strong ties to the DC universe. People want their Joker fighting Batman.
For some reason I could see a good story where Joker goes up against another villain for completely chaotic evil reasons. Rhaz wants order he wants chaos, argues order is an illusion, Rhaz is trying to manipulate Thomas Wayne to his own end so Joker murders him. Fin
Or maybe they end it with young Bruce Wayne and his parents leaving the opera and in a surprise twist Joker murders all three of them
I'd jizz all over the theater if Joaquin's last line is "Tell me kid- you ever dance with the devil by the pale moon light?"
I have made no secret in this thread about the fact I hate everything about this film because I am a Batman fanboy/purist. I’m all for Elseworlds type films, but not something like this one. After the trailers, I still despise everything about The Joker. Come at me.
So the opinions of everyone slobbering all over it are valid, but anyone else’s opinion doesn’t matter? Interesting.
IT director confirms his next film is Flash. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/the_...ovie-calls-it-a-beautiful-human-story-a170325
Evidently it's REALLY good https://www.forbes.com/sites/markhu...s-one-of-the-best-films-of-2019/#5cdf337d29c0
I was interested to see what they did with Patterson but I didn’t see that coming, black face is a pretty bold choice
Titans season 2 came out. You could definitely tell the episode was meant to be the finale of season 1, but it was pretty good.
Haven’t watched yet but heard the same. It ends Trigon and starts deathstroke. Heard the second half is great.
Spoiler I was hesitant on Esai Morales playing Slade, but damn, he nails the look. Ian Glenn looked a little slight, but this Batman should be in his 40s so it makes sense. Spoilered just in case.
