I want JL to make Superman’s outfit more vibrant. They way it’s supposed to be. MOS is good, but lord his outfit and the entire color palette of the movie was like choosing the sepia tone filter on Instagram.
It’s because the suits don’t care about the cartoons/animated stuff. Which, in reality should clue them in as to why their movies suffer.
I think the guy is just a sadist and this satisfies him because he can torture people on a massive scale. He sucks so fucking bad and keeps getting jobs.
Watching WW84. About an hour in. It's fun. Feels like a throwback to pre-MCU comic book movies. The bright colors, light tone, nothing too serious, big score, a little cheesy. It's fun. Diana in the white dress, that high high high slit. Merry Christmas.
like, it just wasn’t very entertaining imo. Very blah and boring to me for the most part. Pedro’s acting was the best part of the movie but that storyline was rough...
It's going to be very polarizing, I think. I grew up watching 80s and 90s era comic book movies, the pre-MCU films that were just there to sell toys and weren't meant to prop up multi-billion dollar industries. It's a very throwback movie to that era, unserious and hammy. Pascal chewed scenery like a pro in the third act though. There was nothing as good in it as the No Man's Land scene in the first film, though. It was harmless and fine but I wouldn't see it twice.
I think there were some good performances by most of the main cast. I just don't think it connected together into a good movie. It felt like other DC movies: they tried to pack 3-4 movies into one and, after 2+ hours, it just kind of ends without much resolution.
A couple hours staring at Gal Gadot is enough for me. Sprinkle in Adagio in D Minor and I’m a thumbs up
Spoiler I Loved it. I understand the gripes, but my ultimate conclusion is that I wish I saw it in theaters and seeing in theaters may have fixed some things.. mainly coming from an emotional standpoint and the fact that you could pause, walk away, rewind, etc. and it loses the impact a bit. I was skeptical for the first, like 20 minutes, but it started getting going. Yea, Cheetah was weak but it was a good choice for the plot of the film and Wiig was terrific. Loved the ending. Patty is great. But this is what happens when your first film blows expectations away and the Studio tries and take some control here-and-there. you also get more money into it so you put some more VFX in there. Pine and Gadot have fantastic chemistry. Mall opening was weak imo though. A third film, a bit more darker, bringing the theme back again from the first when she crashes into the building, that would be sweet to return to. Also, this:
Spoiler My immediate reaction was, "she didn't say it" He made her the cheetah, but her original wish was still being Diana as a human...
It was entertaining, nothing special, but watchable. Pascal excellent and stole the show. I came away mostly surprised at how attracted I was to Kristen Wiig
The first WW was like the first Iron Man movie for me. The first two acts of both movies are fantastic, but neither of them stuck the third act in a way where you could put it up there with the best superhero movies. I didn't think this was particularly close to the first one. I thought the tone of the first one was great, where it was serious stuff, but they mixed in legitimately funny/adorable stuff that made you like the characters. This one felt like they couldn't decide what they wanted to do in that regard. Thought they spent way too much time trying to show you 1984. Thought a lot of the Steve/Diana stuff was just weird. And the end is really kind of weird to me in a lot of different ways.
Spoiler movie started out ok, amazing 2nd act, poor ending i enjoyed being introduced to WW in the 80s. The 2nd act where max lord gets his hands on the crystal and starts to acquire geopolitical power was great. So was the action set pieces in Egypt The 3rd act started out fast but kinda fizzled imo. Good stakes building with DC rioting, arms race between usa /russia, but... cheetah just mentally going crazy and making diana her #1 enemy based off...jealousy? And that long awkward sequence of max lord yelling on tv... the kumbaya ending with everyone across the world joining together and renouncing their wishes? Come tf on. smh felt cheesy
Spoiler Also, this incident in 1984 is supposed to change her for what she becomes in BvS and Justice League. Who knows what year the next WW film is, but I also remember reading something, and may have come from Patty, that this is a film that is life altering for Diana. She had to let go of Steve and the past, which she did.
