If WW and JL are good, I really want them to give Flashpoint a shot. Watched BvS last night as well, and the setup is there.
I think them doing it on TV is a good sign they'll never touch it in the theatres. Remember, DC is too stupid to create one universe.
Think Robbie pulled a power move. Supposedly Ayer's is better than the cut we saw in theaters and better than the extended cut on bluray
IIRC, WB basically gave Ayer only about one month to write the screenplay from scratch for SS. Which is fucking insanity for a movie that cost $175 million.
WB needs to work on releasing the best version of their movies in theaters and not on a director's cut that 10,000 people will watch.
Why would you be? He's the exact same character in almost every movie. I felt bad for Ayer. One month to put the script together knowing he had to make Smith the hero.
I love how Will Smith narrated my feelings the whole time. He kept saying that he didn't sign up for this, he didn't like anything that was happening, and that he wanted to die around the 90 minute mark, etc. Blew me away
watched the extended version of SS the other night, going in with super low expectations it was pretty enjoyable. as a whole the DCEU feels rushed, as did this movie & some of the characters. Harley was enjoyable, but we were told she went crazy/fell in love with the Joker instead of the movie showing us. I did like the scenes where she had moments of sanity and her former self came through.
Hopefully we get a live action version of Under the Red Hood. Hell it can be a shot for shot recreation of the comic book movie and I'd be satisfied.
Retrospect question for everyone: Man of Steel - awful, bad, mediocre, good, great, best ever The film had cool moments, but not enough vibrant color - Superman is red, blue, gold, and the film reminded me of watching the Mexico storyline from Traffic at times.
My biggest beef with MoS is Zod's reason for wanting to destroy Earth. Why would you want to make it like Krypton when you can literally have the superpowers that it took you a few days to hone while you adapted to our atmosphere?
There's no point in asking that question because there's no logical answer for it. Same way it didn't make sense for Batman of all people to abandon logic or reason and suddenly want Superman dead.
God damn it all you had to do was copy The Dark Knight Returns frame by frame and it would've been perfect. Fuck
I disagree, a much better idea would've been using the animated worlds finest crossover between Batman the animated series and superman the animated series. (Watch this if you get a chance it's pretty good) Conflict between the two on the level of Dark Knight Returns doesn't work unless there's been years of build up like Cap vs Iron Man(two people who have never seen eye to eye) or one of them had been corrupted which twisted their values like Superman becoming the governments lap dog or being controlled by Darksied. Everything about BvS never felt right. Hell everything about Superman and Lois's relationship feels forced as hell. If not for Holly Hunter, WW, Batman, and Alfred that movie would've been unwatchable. Alfred, WW and Holly Hunter's character who was killed off in the stupidest way possible seemed to be the only people capable of intelligent thought in the entire movie.
I really hope they go backwards with the standalone film. A true, twisted telling of their "love" story would be really good.
Everything has just been rushed and seems like their editors are fucking terrible. Easy stories to tell but DC is just pushing shit out as fast as possible and everything is just kinda "meh." Which sucks bc there is a lot of fun stories. Loved Zod, don't really have an issue with him wanting to remake his home planet. Amy Adams is terrible as Lois and I hate how they fucked up Doomsday in BvS. In less than 10 minutes he's created and died like twice apparently, someone somehow already knows he gets stronger everytime he dies, and then he gets nuked. Not to mention the whole how did Lex know about all this, that the editing left out. Edit, just watched BvS last weekend, my emotions are reignited.
I'm on the first couple of episodes of Season 3 of Arrow and I definitely see why people hate it. I didn't know Ra's was in this specific D.C. Universe
