I'm still slowly trying to drum up interest. Just don't think there's a whole lot of games that people are playing in groups right now.
I wish more people liked ARPGs. Path of Exile’s newest league Betrayal is incredible. The game is really fun and addicting.
We had quite a group of people spread across the MMORPGs for a few years, but feel like it's been silent for a while now.
Yeah I played about 3 months of WoW during the most recent release. Having a baby made me cancel the subscription though. Just too much going on. With PoE I can st least play at my own pace and pause without feeling so far behind not raiding.
Haha this league it would be hard. It’s basically the last 3 leagues combined into one which is honestly awesome for content. What new players need to do is download path of building, go on YouTube and watch a starter league build guide video, pick something they like the looks of, then basically copy that and just play the game. There was a massive influx of D3 players due to the mobile Diablo announcement and they’ve all loved it, at least those that are streamers. If you need help I can also assist.
is PoE single player or can you run with a group? I feel like if I start now I'll have to play forever just to get caught up. Admittedly, I don't know much about it. I have hundreds of hours in D3 and a ton in Grim Dawn so I feel like it is something I should like.
Both. It’s whatever you want. Leagues last 3 months and then that character(s) and all your gear goes to the standard league which you can play at any time but might have different elements to the game. The leagues usually introduce cool and unique experiences. This league is Betrayal and uses previous in game NPCs in a new way as part of the story. You would love it. It’s the game D3 should have been. It’s free and gets patched and updated monthly. Grinding Gear Games is active in the community and has been a breath of fresh air in regards to their engagement. The game is complex until you learn about it and get the basics and then it’s judr nuance to your build. Every character base can use any skill, just certain characters obviously mesh better with other skills based on their inherent buffs and character ascendancies.
Yeah except much more in depth. There’s usually a totally new mechanic or two, new items (not just buffed and reworked ones), much more diverse endgame. Like this season, there’s about 6-8 totally different and unique endgame things to do. Maybe more. You’ve just got to stick with it. This is my 4th season and Im having more and more fun because I know more and understand more.
Here’s a good video with starter build guides. You typically will do a starter build at the beginning of the league that does not require a lot of currency to make and can be attained by gearing up yourself through leveling. Once you have some currency or have found other gear while mapping or doing other endgame activities, you can make a new character and outfit him with leveling gear and have endgame gear waiting on him to do some specific endgame stuff like farming eternal labyrinth or Uber elder/shaper runs. These things are hard and the fights are not easy where you can just face tank stuff. If you prefer a melee class, I would recommend looking at some of Engineering Eternity T H I C C Juggernaut builds. And really his videos in general are helpful for new players. You can also play a trap build like Arc Trapper. They melt everything. It’s basically a chain lightning that emits from traps you throw on the ground and can be buffed as such. Do what’s fun and don’t be afraid to mess up. You can undo any talents point with currency or quest rewards.
Yeah wtf, this thread was so active throughout the last few years. For 3.14, going with a blazing salvo sab that path of mathh built out. Ultimatum is fun so far, Trialmaster is a dick to me because I puss out and very rarely finish all the challenges.
No. Hence the op deletion. Too lazy to tag an admin for unpinning the thread. No one ever used it so I booted everyone and repurposed it for the TMB investing room.
