Not pretty at all in the second half but once Richarlison went out that bunker style of play was inevitable. I'll take a win over Brendan Rodgers any day.
As the resident Davies fanboy - can we all admit he played really well and Leciesters momentum slowed after that sub? Also kudos to Carlo for changing up the formation.
They slowed when we went to 3 in the back. But Davies did what he does, made some bad giveaways but also had some really good moments at the end to break pressure/maintain possession
We might be fucked if Holgate or Keane get injured. Mina’s already one foot out the door and Branthwaite is a mere child.
Well that blows. We're utterly uninspired with this midfield and need some more anything (lose one of Davies/Gylfie asap pls)
It’s hard to get mad at the players for being unmotivated. No atmosphere with nothing at stake. There’s no way these matches would still be played if not for European places and relegation needing to be sorted.
Gylfi does nothing on either side of the ball. As much as he gives it away, even Davies tries to drive us forward occasionally
Starting midfield we trotted out there was pathetic what a terrible effort by those guys.....Gordon looked good tho
We didn’t deserve a better result but fuck man. It’s not like Tottenham deserved the result. Flukey ass own goal. Sigh
Spurs are terrible we should have throttled them if we had Kean and Gordon earlier with Rich our wide where he can get the ball more and create
Overhauling the midfield has to be a priority over the next few transfer windows. Gylfi is dead weight at this point. I'm not the biggest fan of Davies but I thought he was decent today so I'll give him credit where it's due and like others have said Gordon has been a bright spot since the restart. Piss poor game overall by both teams and just glad I had the german relegation playoff on another screen just to watch a match with some stakes attached to it instead of a 10th vs 11th match-up with no edge whatsoever.
The Premier League is insane for not co-opting the relegation playoff idea for whoever finishes 17th and 18th. I’m guessing there will always be enough clubs who fear the idea of finishing 17th and getting relegated to vote it down. The domestic audience would definitely sneer at a club who finished 18th and stays up by winning the playoff. Cutting in line is the most “Least British” thing one can do.
DCL has to be running on fumes. If he's not, his fitness levels are off the charts Also no Holgate. We're super duper fucked if he's out for the rest of the year or even more than a couple games
