Hey lads...long time lurker (5-10 posts total across TMB over the last 5 years) and Everton fan here. My fellow lurker Papajohn56 and I have got three free tickets to Everton vs Southampton on Saturday May 5th to any TMBer or friend thereof who wants them. Backstory: Me and papa are good friends that live in Florida (go Gators!), and adopted Everton about 5 years ago when we discovered the EPL (thanks Tim Howard!). We, plus some friends, decided last October to book a UK golf trip and worked it around the three of us who cared about soccer being able to see an Everton game live. Problem is last month I tore a ligament in my knee playing soccer (this is the part where I lie and say I did it with a Zlatan-style 40 yard bicycle kick goal, but actually I'm a 33 y/o bald guy that dared to both move fast AND turn, and thus met my demise at the hands of municipally managed dirtgrass), and after holding out hope for a while for a miracle recovery, we've finally decided to throw in the towel and postpone the trip to this fall. So we go through the various travel reimbursement process and generally is fine, but turns out the 3 Everton tickets we bought on stubhub can't be resold due to some deal they have with the PL clubs. I guess we bought from someone that has season tickets and to prevent scalping they're prohibited from resale? It's confusing, and sucks, because they are will-call pickup only with the confirmation information so it's not like we're holding physical tickets we can just sell old-school style. We looked at it and there is a black market for this stuff but it doesn't seem worth the risk and effort for maybe $100 at best for the three. So Papajohn and I talked about it and decided the next best option would be to give them away free, and thought we'd start here. You all have suffered with us watching this crapass team for the last 5 years, and hell, we've consumed your content without ever posting any ourselves, so this is only fair, right? :) So here's the deal! If you or someone you know wants to go to the game for free, PM me, and I'll send you my stubhub purchase info and transfer the tickets to your name. No strings attached, though I do request you don't just scalp them yourself. Oh and maybe take a pic or two and post it here? Here's a copy/paste of my order info so don't think I'm some random trollbot: Order info Order #: 222661211 | Order date: 10/12/2017 Everton v Southampton at Goodison Park, Liverpool, UK Sat, 05/05/2018, 15:00 GMT (Event time subject to change - Check local listings) Main Stand 4 | 3 tickets Row L | Seats 184, 185, 186 Ticket class: Adult (25-64),Kids (Under 11) Billing info Price per ticket: £120.00 Quantity: x 3 Subtotal: £360.00 Service fee: + £58.50 VAT fee: + £11.70 Order total: £430.20 Hope someone makes good use of these!
That’s pretty cool man. I wish I had the opportunity. Hope your knee gets well soon. Don’t be a stranger in the thread.
Quick update: got no replies here, so reached out to Men In Blazers. Within 2 hours Rog replied and now we're PM'ing...will keep this group posted
So if it's Liverpool v Real Madrid in the final, who do you want to see win. It's difficult for me to despise Liverpool like an Evertonian should because of the lack of face to face interaction and of all the clubs above us in the pecking order, they seem to be one of the least crazy when it comes to unrealistic expectations year in & year out. The ones I did meet in Liverpool were all quite nice. Except Jamie Carragher when he spat on me.
I agree when I was in Liverpool everyone was super chill on both sides and I was at the UCL quarterfinal at Anfield live so I guess it be a cool thing to say in Liverpool’s title run I was there for a quarterfinal game
I always want a Cinderella team to win it. The last time that happened it was Chelsea but it feels sinful to call Chelsea a Cinderella story. But look at these lineups and it's like The Miracle on Ice. Robben and Ribery were still in their primes too. And the match was in Munich.
Oh well this whole saga now has a happy ending! Rog from MiB retweeted me and today a college Sophomore at Newcastle University reached out to me looking to go primarily to spite her Liverpool-loving brother. We chatted for a bit and I gave her the tix! She's going the weekend before her finals with a couple of classmates and promised to postPatchInThePark pic on twitter. MIB is helping out by actually mailing us both patches lol. Laramie @lightboothgod Replying to @trf580 @rogbennett Hi there, I'm a UK (Newcastle) based GFOP and I'd love to make the trip to see Everton if you're still looking for someone, not sure my Liverpool supporting brother would be too pleased though 7:59 AM - 26 Apr 2018
Wayne to mls. lol Ive spent my entire soccer fandom hating on him. He comes here and actually wins some of my respect. He really did play hard and was obvious he really cared. Then he leaves. Power Troll Move, Wayne. Well done, you twat.
He had nothing left in the tank tho, watching him in person twice he was 2 steps behind everyone in the midfield
More money is always good, right? https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/alisher-usmanov-latest-arsenal-news-14670722
There’s a mixture of relief and self-pity thanks to us not having any players that one of the bigger clubs will poach from us. I’m excluding the leviathan that is DC United of course. Gana is really the only one that seems fathomable to me. Depending on how he plays in the World Cup. Pickford might attract interest but there is really only one potential buyer and that is Arsenal. There are probably 4 or 5 GKs they’d go after before Pickford would be their guy. Liverpool could certainly use him but we might as well shut down the club if they sell him to our neighbors.
So seems like Marco Sliva made it though his first day on the job without pissing off someone involved with the club. It loads me with schadenfreude that Fat Sam landed the two best managing jobs he's ever had in a span of two years and squandered both of them terribly.
Tosun got sent off for a rather strange incident today. http://www.espn.com/soccer/turkey/s...sees-redmakes-throat-slit-gesture-towards-fan It would be nice to get a more precise explanation of what the hell happened. Everton need to go ahead and give his dad a lifetime ban to prevent whatever the fuck happened from happening to us. Maybe he is a Randy Marsh type that has to get in fights with a parent of a kid from the other team.
Good news: We apparently got a decent bit of money from selling Funes Mori to Villareal. Bad news: We have midtable in the Championship caliber Centerbacks.
Let’s see if we can spend that on a solid number one CB without getting taken to the cleaners by Burnley this time.
Saw that Schneiderlin is getting sent to Marseille. Yay Ashley prob joinin wayne in DC, hell yes Also that Marco wants to ship off Bolasie. I like him a lot but I guess the injury uncertainty is too much
It will be an embarrassment for MLS if DC sign Ashley Williams. He has a collapsed lung for goodness sake. He is elderly and in bad health. And with Bolasie, what he was good at before we signed him diminishes with age. Hopefully that is a signal to Lookman that Silva is ready to start him.
Just noticed Antonee Robinson's twitter is @Antonee_Jedi 1. He's American 2. He's a SW fan Hope he pans out. Checks all the boxes, imo. Plus we need young CBs
Definitely doesn’t have the make up of a CB. And his pace would barely be of use without a flank to bomb down or snuff out counter attacks. I don’t think he has ever lived in America during any point of his life. I thought it was a coup to get him for the US because England aren’t loaded with talented young left backs in his age vicinity. They have Ryan Sessegnon but I think it’s pretty much a given he will become an attacking player.
Just read an article linking us to Zaha for a ridiculous fee. Also mentions Lukaku the Younger and the player on the German National Team Toni Kroos refused to pass the ball to.
We need someone who can take a decent corner if we do get Mina. He and Tosun could give teams fits in the air.
