I'm assuming any sort of deal for Rabiot is off at this point.

I didn’t get to watch the match, but I don’t think losing 2-0 at Sevilla with an experimental lineup is the worst result in the world. Did I see that Semedo was playing LB lol?

I’m also completely fine with selling Coutinho this summer. As much as Dembélé has grown into his own this year Coutinho has equally regressed. He just doesn’t seem to have a place in the team. I thought that he could play as a winger but that ship has sailed. He also clearly can’t play as an interior in a three man midfield. It seems his best position is as a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2, and that formation doesn’t appear to making a comeback. Sell him while we can still fetch 100 million for him.

Problem is that Barca sounds like they want to sell him for what they paid, and no less.

That's at this point though. If any teams actually coming around asking, wellw see how the club responds

We were absolutely dominated today. Midfield was an absolute mess.

It gets frustrating when the only time we have any semblance of an offensive threat is when one or or more Messi, Dembele, or Malcom is on the field. And we don't let Malcom play because he's the exact same player as Dembele.

Semedo didn't look out of place on the left, fwiw.

Yeah, that’ll be tough. Coutinho clearly isn’t in our Gala XI with a healthy Dembele so I’m curious if Countinho starts to fuss which might force Barto’s hand.

Yeah, if we were completely dominated that sucks. I can understand our attack suffering without Messi and/or Dembélé but I wish our midfield had more bite when the aforementioned guys aren’t playing.

I was mostly observing in the background while at work. He didn’t stick out. Semedo would be my choice for MOTM followed by Cillessen, Malcom, and Rakitic. But we looked like shit throughout, so that’s not saying too terribly much.

That was a damn good game. Also, Malcom deserves more playing time.

Pretend for round three of digging a hole in the first leg and trying to climb out of it in the second.

Only conceded one away goal and team responded well after a shaky start. Will take care of them at the bernabeu as usual.

I'm feeling fairly comfortable with where we're at in the tie. Then again, part of that may be that we actually got a result as opposed to the last few first legs.

Not in reference to the second leg, but just for fun, Wish we could figure out a way to get Dembele (once back from injury) and Malcom on the field at the same time. Something like below could get nasty.

    Suarez Messi
    Malcom Busquets Rakitic Dembele
    Alba Umtiti Pique Roberto
    Ter Stegen

We're already shaky in defense, so no reason to make a mess of our midfield for the sake of more offense, but damn that would be a ton of speed out wide.

That would be a great FIFA line up. Not that they don’t play like that in some regard already but that would look like 2-4-4 for 75% of the game and anything that gets in the way of the Alba Messi telepathy is a net negative. All said as a casual fan of the team and disciple of Leo who only watches 15 min highlights of games.

With Suarez and Coutinho on the field, Messi has to put in absolute gems to try and compensate. Today wasn’t one of those days.

We’ve been looking like shit for a while now. Very frustrating.

Haven't watch yet as it was a 6am match but I'm sure it's more of the same lazy complacency and lack of finishing that's been the story of the season

Messi and Dembélé haven’t been great with the chances they’ve gotten. However, I don’t think it can be understated how bad Suarez is. He can’t even pass the ball.

  48. CC_Nole

In the past when he’s looked like he has two left feet we could still count on him to create space for others with his movement. He’s slow as shit now and struggles to even do that.

I’ve never seen Messi look this poor with the amount of space he’s had this game.

Lyon should be paying Suarez’s wages.
