Koeman is impressive. Six matches in and already 8 points behind RM (I know they have a game in hand).
Maybe they’ll shithouse their way to CL title. Otherwise, hard to care too much when this whole thing is getting blown up at the end of the year anyways.
Hopefully it's blown up well before that. Font voted in in Jan. then Xavi comes in to clear everything up
The attack is just so old, it’s the same shit. Death by 1000 paper cuts isn’t working. No creativity, it’s like they’re scared to make a fucking play.
Blasphemy alert: Messi just isn't IT anymore. He's so easily dispossessed. Whether he's mobbed by 3-4 defenders, or even just a one on one, he's simply just a normal footballer. He wins some, but loses possession most of the time. He still has that incredible quick powerful shot, but he can't create it himself anymore. He needs a real Center Forward drawing people off. Whatever Griezmann is, he's not that.
Fuck, this team is such a mess. Alba and Fati have NO chemistry on that left side. No overlap, no back and forth or awareness of each other. Love to see Dest and Fati together. BUT Sergio Roberto and Dembele anyone are also not a good combo. Feet over there is also such an upgrade.
Busquets running up the field trying to play as a playmaker is ridiculous. Of the two, de Jong should maybe be doing that, with Busquets back. But Koeman's playing them inverted. Wtf?
TBF, he was only an inch or two from blocking that ball. That doesn't excuse that whole sequence at all, but he blocks it out there then the defense recovers and we're 0-0 at halftime. Need some changes. The attack is lifeless.
id rather they just get beat than keep giving away points with stupid shit like today, the penalty against getafe, neto against alaves need to find a way to join serie a or trick them into thinking they are playing villareal every game or this team aint even making europe next year
Koeman out. Pochettino in to whip the roster as is into shape. Instill some discipline and accountability. Change the culture. When the new president gets the financials under control and we can spend money, Xavi in to rebuild the way he wants/needs.
We should have just collected on the Messi bucks. Yeah, of course it hurts to see the GOAT, and someone that came up through the academy leave, but the reset should have happened. Instead we’re stuck with a disinterested player that has their foot halfway out the door. We have a lot of promising youth to build around. Forcing Messi to stay was not the call.
100% agree. Just watch his play in the Argentina games. He’s visibly happier and interested in the game than in any of the Barca games this year. I said when he decided to stay something like, now we get to see how good Messi plays as a hostage. Well, it turns out not very good. His set pieces are awful. His open play is sub-par (not just by Messi standards). He’s automatic from the spot and that’s all he’s doing. Please let him go in Jan for at least some money instead of free in the summer. Let him go reunite with Pep and Aguero and play happy for his last season or two. It’s what he deserves.
Sergi out for 2 months. Good news: Koeman can no longer inexplicably start Sergi over Dest. Bad news: Dest and Alba are all we have. In a condensed season where more injuries are going to occur, that's not good. Pique out for 6wks to 9 months, depending on who you see speculating. More tests and evals on Wed. No Messi and no de Jong travelling for the Kyiv game. That's good, they need some rest, but who the fuck is going to play CB next to Lenglet?
Oh shit! How did I forget about last year's useless signing, Junior Firpo!? Our defense is going to be fine.
That's not fair to call him useless. He's at one of those legacy positions where he's just never been given a fair chance. Like Busquets and Pique, Alba is just never going to see the bench no matter how often he just sends ghost crosses across to no one and how slow he is getting back on D. Junior could very well be more than serviceable there at the LB, but this is only like his 3rd start or so
God damn this is frustrating to watch. No one willing to take anyone on, just so content to make the obvious pass.
Pedri has moments of brilliance and then just nothing for long stretches. Trincao showing nothing. Alena just so blah.
We have 11 individuals out there. We did not field a team today. They are all quite skilled so they show some flashes, but there is no cohesion. Because almost none of these guys have received proper minutes and rotation over the last year or two
Braithwaite with 2 starts this week and now 3 goals, amazing what playing an actual Center Forward (for more than just the last <15 mins) does. Griezmann with goals in back to back games this week too. Hope this means the mojo is back for him.
I'm beyond ready to start a real hard search for Alba's replacement. He's only got two cards left in his hand. Force it the Messi, or blindly send a cross in to no one.
Glad someone else is on board with my “fuck Alba” train. Been over him for a while. Knowing this club we’ll have his replacement signed in about 5 years.
Had forever to plan for Alves’ departure: failed miserably Had forever to plan for Xavi’s departure: failed miserably Had forever to plan for Iniesta’s departure: failed miserably Had forever to plan for Suarez’s departure: *fill in the blank*
That Griezmann goal Trincão had a poor game, and has just not impressed at all but n his time. Not writing him off by any means, but less time for him might be better for the team.
Braithwaite might not suck? Greizmann might be better playing off another striker? I feel like shit writing this, but Barto’s final fuck up may just have been not moving on from Messi gracefully.
