as baffling as the last 35 minutes have been, rappin ronnie koeman making the right subs at (mostly) the right time may have been even more baffling
Come on Koeman, do something strange and go Puig, Pedri, Busquets. Let's finally see the two kids out there at the same time
FUCK. This man really took off Puig and put in Pedri while leaving the old men out there. FUCK EDIT: NEVERMIND. Puig still there
Fuck. Sergio, don't make me dislike you. I love you. Stop getting old and shitty and costing us goals.
Down 1-0 from the 25th minute onward, and Koeman busts out his first sub in the 85th minute and second in the 90th. Cool.
Feel like Griezz is finding his place. Interested to see who gets the start against psg. Would love to see pedri/puig/de Jong mf but we all know busquets will start. Rcb is a mess so the back line will be interesting as well.
Not unknown. We have been on a good run in La Liga and that may have made some people forget that we are not on this level this year. This was pretty much the predicted result as soon as the draw was made. Ok, with how PSG was at the time of the draw, it was more of a toss-up. But when they got Pochettino, they went to the clear fav. It was either get pounded by psg this rd, or luck by them and get shelled in the next rd.
I can be quite the negative nancy at times but I wouldn’t be surprised if this club hits an AC Milan type drop off. The club seems broken at every level.
For sure. It's a massive rebuild. Sure, we have some great youth talent that has stepped forward this year, but who backs them up going forward? Good luck convincing experienced first team starter types to come back up/split minutes with 19 yr olds. Who coaches such a rebuild? Xavi, our savior? What if the rebuild is hard and we suck? Do we all want to see Xavi's legacy shot on like that? I'm preparing myself for this to suck hard ass for a few years.
they are definitely in better shape long term talent-wise than they were two years ago, but the financial aspect has gotten worse over that same timeframe, which obviously puts a damper on everything desperately need araujo and moriba to be legit, if only to inject some athleticism and physicality into the lineup
A broke team digging themselves further into debt by selling players for scraps doesn't seem like the play.
You guys have pieces and quite expensive ones at that. You guys have lost your identity and internal culture that you’ve almost always had. Find the right president and coach and you’ll be back pretty quickly. Its well documented the financial issues you guys have but it’s not like you’ll ever miss out on champions league revenue like what can happen in England.
For the love of God please treat these players with some goddamn respect though. Not another Suarez situation. Pique and Busquets have seen us through all of our highest moments and have earned the right to go out on their terms, not just shoved out the door. This tweet is pretty fucking stupid actually. That is a bunch of fucking players that are all going to need to be replaced as well. We don't have the money for that, no matter how much we can sell these ones for. Sell off 5 of our back 4 ? Sell of both Center Forwards? Who can we replace all those guys with and get better? It's not a one off-season fix. That's s shit is going to take a bit.
I fully support selling Lenglet & Griezmann, especially considering the market conditions & return you’d get back. Maybe also consider not letting a washed up nobody of a caretaker dictate transfer policy just because he played for the club 30 years ago.
I mean, I guess this lineup is good enough for La Liga, it's been working for the last couple weeks, but it very clearly is not strong enough for Europe play.
Might be the best win of the season. Sure would have been nice not to give up a 90th minute penalty to Cadiz a week ago.
