Need a new thread after the meltdown. I just kopped these bitches, gonna hit Lake Caney in N. Louisiana this weekend real hard.

yea bleacher report is hilarious sometimes it does kind of make me mad that the best bass fishing is in fucking mexico
Our striper don't get very big. 7.5 is a nice fish for the lake. No flowing water keeps them from getting too big. Hopefully we'll get into some good reds tomorrow. Catching reds on the flats and in the creeks are about as good as it gets.
Where at? Would be badass if you got that gator on topwater. I just kopped a Calcutta 200B for bass and trout/reds. Heading down to PCB for the holiday weekend and going to try and do some wade fishing in the bay.
Got a shimano cardiff 200A on a 7ft BPS tourney special. That's my striper/coastal setup. Left it on the boat in OK.
Ono area. I did. ...on the reel you just kopped. Actually it may have been a 250 - same thing I guess. I wish I was going to PC.
what can you guys tell me about going out on fishing charters like this? thinking about going for blues
Right on. We used to have a place down at Ono, so I'm pretty familiar with some of the local trout holes. A lot of times I'd just fish them at night though. Did you get him on a top dog?
Yeah iits a cool area. It is tough to pick oick up a lot of fish, but there are a few big ones. I caught him on a top dog. It had like a bluish back and a silver/bluish side.
Biggest king I caught this weekend from the Dan Russell Pier in Panama City. Went 17lbs. Not huge, but still a hell of a fight on 14lb line. Got him on a live chub mackeral.
Yeah, I saw a handful of reds cruising in the surf but I didn't really try too hard for them. Tossed a pompano jig a couple of times but no interest and that was that. Lots of bruiser jacks around too. Hooked up a few of them on a mag darter. Awesome topwater action.
Went fishing in eastern Oregon at Wallowa lake for Kokanee. Shit is tough. Gave up after like 2 hours and stuck with the old reliable, rainbow trout. Hooray for powerbait.
Have not had luck with the reds this year in Tampa/Longboat Key area, but got lucky and caught the only snook I saw that has made it to the beaches on Saturday. It was 26 1/2 inches and I was just messing around and caught it with a live shrimp. Was actually looking for Tarpon this weekend but no luck there. Hardly saw them when on the boat, saw them everywhere from the beach when they were out of range.
I saw several pods of tarpon cruising the beach this weekend but they weren't interested in anything.
Trying to get some fishing in before the oil takes it away King I caught today. Had a tarpon roll on my bait but didn't take :curses:
Don't know how I missed this thread, went striper fishing at Texoma in May, biggest we caught was 11 pounds
Awesome thread. Just wanted to stop in and say, "Hey." Just caught this beauty this past Friday morning after work. Caught 'em with a fake plastic worm on a Texas Rig.
Striper fishing in the Chesapeake Bay = GOAT Atlanta sucks b/c there is no fishing close & charters are big $$$$. I go back home to Virginia and fish a couple times a year. Headed back in a month & hope to get on some Cobia, Spadefish, Amberjacks & hopefully a Mahi/Tuna trip out of the Outer Banks.
First fish of the day on a 1/2 oz. white spinnerbait. She blew up on it as soon as it hit the water. Finished the day with 16, estimated best 5 probably somewhere near 14 lbs.
north ga has some pretty good trout waters that are not a long drive. and nobody thinks about it cause most view it as gross but you can get out on the hooch and fish.
Well, no shit. Problem is not everyone lives or has access to deep sea fishing. Therefore in the meantime we fish fresh water.
