what is your favorite fried fish? Fried catfish is hard to beat. Fried snapper is really good. What are your favorite accoutrements ?
Fried snapper and grouper less than 24 hours out of the water with homemade cocktail sauce, picked and eaten with the tired hands that caught them and washed down with a cold beer. Side note, caught an ugly eel looking fish many years ago (cusk or conger?) in the Gulf that was really great fried.
Something about a “whole fryer” bream meaning not big enough to filet. Gut, scale and throw in the fryer. That’s good eating.

Crappie is damn hard to beat. Trout panfried over a campfire. Lots of saltwater options, though I like grilled better for most fish steaks.
Love crappie but to me it's just as good baked or otherwise. Last year on our fishing trip to the White River, the other fellas caught a couple trout and we did surf and turf with some back strap I brought from home. We ate way better than we deserved to that night.
Amen. Venison tenderloin is always on the menu for fishing trips, and having fresh caught trout is a helluva bonus.

Had someone high hole me 3/4 mile in where you had to scramble down a 100 ft tall bank. First time I've even run into another fisherman on all of the small brook trout streams.
Some days are better than others and today was one of those days. 20 plus reds a few over slots and probably 5ish mid to upper slots. I doubled up twice. Just couldn’t ask for a better day

Just booked our trip for out west. Going to do a ranch in Wyoming vs the horseback camp trip. Going to do a float trip on the Madison too.
Early July. So should hit it right a runoff ends and avoid any potential hoot owl restrictions. But early winter predictions for Montana are wet and cold so maybe it won't be an issue either way. Planning on heading into Slough Creek in Yellowstone for one day too.
