Shitty pic but shocked about a dozen weather loaches today in a stream in Clarke County which they were previously unknown from. No bueno.
Yeah the spots in the fins make me think it’s a mostly bald speckled trout. Was quite the debate in my local fishing group Between that at a sand trout, weakfish
Had a little bit of time before helping out with a Trout in the Classroom release to check out a stream. Didn't find anything, but it was pretty.
Nice to get back to a brook trout stream, even if I found a few rainbows where they weren't supposed to be
If anyone is getting rid of a saltwater fly fishing set up let me know. Don’t want to spend to much on it but wouldn’t mind trying it especially during flood tide season.
we are talking about trying to do some day time swordfishing in 1200 feet 80 pound braid main line with a bimini twist loop at end > wind on leader > tag end of wind on leader crimped to a ball bearing swivel > crimp a leader onto the other side of the swivel >light about 12 inches above hook> fully rigged squid with 9/0 or 11/0 jhook> breakaway weight attached to the bend in the hook with rubberband and long line clip . When the swordfish hits it or you reel up the weight breaks off.
Crappie bite still good just not much size. Both boys were catching so the mission was accomplished. Couple decent bass made me happy. 3#s on the crappie rod felt closer to Moby Dick 4#s on a more appropriate rod and a chatterbait
A friend of mine has a Bote Zeppelin 12’6 and I took it out in Kingsport, TN today. last Friday we fished in SC on a small upstate river.
just realized I missed your question. We did a mix of both. It was supposed to be a fly fishing trip but our guide mainly wanted to fish conventional, which I guess makes a little more sense with how we fished. Idk what’s normal up there. Felt like I got bait and switched a little but was still fun. We basically fished an egg pattern drop setup under an indicator, so like a big nymphing rig you’d use for trout.
Only had 8 lines out as we impromptu went camping on Friday night. 28 & 15 lbs. Had two more ~ 5 lbs.
Front pushing through. Things are very bitey. Pounded crappie for the first hour. Another largemouth on the crappie rod successfully landed. Just praying to the flouro gods to hold on the whole time.
Was def bitey this weekend. My son and his 2 buddies caught 40+ largemouth trespassing pondhopping Fri/Sat/Sun.
Sunday fishing report: Tried to replicate the last trip where we caught 11 groupers including several studs. Was way slower than last trip. We got some big bites at the reef where we caught a lot of nice ones last trip but they would not commit to it and were letting the bait go. Ended up with 2 nice yellowedge grouper, one nice snowie grouper, a billion shitty little winchman snapper, a bearded brotula, a nice long tail sea bass, some porgies, just a few beeliners, some nice scorpionfish and that was it. You cant see most of the fish in the box shot , they were under the ice . Did see tuna busting all over. Also a billfish poked his head up behind our boat when deep dropping then left.
85 and 30 mph gusts, white caps(yesterday) FISH: FUCK YEAH LET'S RAGE 65, light breeze, water with a slight ripple(today) FISH: FUCK NO THIS IS BULLSHIT
Prolly about 3-4 hours total, going through clips to find content, then editing clips, playing around with CapCut etc. I’m learning as I go so longer than if someone knows what they are doing. I kinda just do them as my hyper fixation allows. When I’m fixated I can do it, when I’m not in the mood I can’t even begin to look at it lol
I played around with a voiceovers and music and made an intro this time. See what happens. I’m happy with it
Sounds about right for what it would take me. Mine are usually in the 20 minute range and take a few hours to put together.
If yall watched and have any advice let me know. I think my second day I was way more informative in my video. It’s hard to try to talk all the time.
Not sure if others agree, but if your target audience is serious anglers, I'd say DON'T talk all the time. I mean absolutely discuss your gear, pattern, etc, but don't pressure yourself for commentary. Can always dub in later too.
Took the pontoon out with the old man yesterday. Weather still iffy and screwing things up. Added a handful of crappie to the freezer. Missed the only 2 plus sized bass I encountered. 1 jumped and spit the hook, the other said fuck your 4# flourocarbon(tbh I pry was a bit too strong considering the setup he hit on).
Happy birthday Chans I like; Key West Waterman, Bama Saltwater; Catfish David seems to be talking more, Def grumpy old man vibe; Forgotten Coast has grown on me, he kinda talks alot, Jay and Cole is the most talkative and I'll often just mute him. His qurik is omgosh big fish, this is a big fish y'all omygosh, ohmygosh. There are a couple more but can't think of them atm. Anyway they all seem to figure out what works for them and what they are comfortable with.
Wife needed the truck so I changed my plans to a stream that didn't need 4wd. Worked out in my favor.
