They’re definitely cancelling it. 100’s of injuries and 8 deaths. 11 people went into cardiac arrest including a 10 yr old from the trauma. They had to set up a field hospital and are declaring it a tragedy. https://www.khou.com/article/news/l...-nrg/285-19d48d85-2564-4242-bdcc-084677f6d6d8
I’m just now seeing this. There’s video of medics trying to revive two kids right beside each other. People on top of the ambulance carts while they are trying to bring unconscious people to the med tents. Wow. Fuck that.
My beards better but I’m fatter and can’t pull of that outfit. I’m at Ravens Tower drinking. I love 2011.
Haha right you are. I figured with them being on the lawn they sold a lot of tickets. They have a new album out etc.
The amount of cool stuff opening like .2 miles away from my townhouse is insane https://houston.eater.com/2021/12/8...uston-coming-soon-permit-restoration-hardware
Bought my townhouse from my landlord at an 8% discount and our mortgage rate is 2.5% I don’t think I’ll ever be able to justify selling this place
What's opened up in the museum district? I've always felt like that area sucks as far as food options go
I’m not sure but the waste land between 59 and the museums is finally starting to get developed. It will be p sweet in a decade
La colombe d'or; there's a fancy fusion korean BBQ place opening up over there; Gatsbys; some other place next to Gatsby's. I guess in a very technical sense that is "Montrose" but I kind of blend that part of Montrose and the museum district into one as the neighborhoods are similar.
I have been wanting to try gatsbys Allison cook did a write up and it sounded interested but then I just keep going back to papas and v&a
I've heard mixed things. I am biased because I absolutely love that area - it's my favorite "spot" in all of Houston.
Gotchya. Yeah I've always considered north of 59 to be Montrose or midtown. Other than the menil, I don't really associate that area with museums. But I have had someone ask to meet in the museum district and they were talking about around the Menil so you aren't alone in that mindset.
Speaking of which - I went to Hotel ZaZa for an event about a month ago. I had a nice time in their bar. I need to go there more often.
Hello friends. Need a couple dinner recs for the 2nd week in January. Staying at the Marriott Marquis so preferably within 10 minute Uber from there. Title game Monday (good food w TVs) and Wednesday. Going to Ninfas on Tuesday for a group dinner.
Craig Biggio's restaurant is also in Marquis. Bunch of tvs. Food is good for a bar type place. Might be better options in the area though
Pitch 25 is another good spot to watch games and has good food. Definitely more of a bar than a dinner spot.
Pit Room and Pinketons are two good BBQ spots within a 10 min uber, but wouldn't recommend waiting until dinner

Born and raised Californian who now lives in possibly one of the worst cities in the entire country for Mexican food. I will be eating as much as possible.
