Downtown seems all sold out for Hilton(Diamond Member), so I try and stick with them. How about University of Houston Area or Greenway Plaza?
UH area isn't as bad as people like to say, but yeah, greenway would be your best bet from those options.
After the OU v UH game this year I got in an uber with some very nice OU fans and they ended up taking my buddy and I to that hotel bar and bought us a bunch of booze, simultaneously there was some kind of gathering of some African country in their bright colored dresses. Place is nice! dear diary
I dont try and hang out in college bars since I am 27, even though it seems like every girl I have met recently is college age or just out.
I hope the Washington fans I took around Atlanta before the Chick-fil-a Bowl have the same fond memories of me.
If you're Hilton Diamond, you get guaranteed room reservations. Check out Hilton Americas, great spot downtown. Hilton also has a double tree, embassy suites and The Same Houston downtown. Downtown is much better than Greenway, if you can swing it. Rates are high, but it seems like you might be able to expense it since it's a work trip.
The accountant that does expense reports for my company can be a fucking dick. I cant imagine how bitchy he would be if I had a $500 room rate.
I was going to suggest this place as well. There are lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance
Hilton Americas 349 Double Tree $319 Sam Houston $329 All much more than I would ever pay, it may be within your range. The new Marriott Marquis that just opened up looks pretty dope, but rates are insane for 2/17
Find somewhere close to Main St. Tons of stuff up and down the light rail that runs the length of Main.
