Cannot wait for the Perry’s in river oaks to open. I was at smith and wollensky bar 4-6x a month before it closed. That’s going to be the new spot
Reserve 101 downtown is having their 11th birthday party downtown. Great whiskey bar. I’ll be there around 11.
I love marathon day so it will be an early night. 7 am breakfast/booze party so it’ll be a long one tomorrow.
Fellas, if you want your peen touched, take your lady to a cooking class in the heights at well done cooking classes. BYOB. Take $20 for a tip. Great date night
Why? Is there fun stuff to do along the route or something? Drinking while watching sounds kind of fun.
Yeah we started drinking early then brought beers, bloody Mary’s and mimosas for along the route. We do it every year.
Opening February 11th, looking forward to some friday lunches there https://www.bizjournals.com/houston...houston-steakhouse-sets-opening-date-for.html
Can't wait to see the same 60 year old dudes and 25 year old whores that do their rounds between B19, Mastros, Abouzy and Bisou at this place.
Haha I meant me But your other boy also used to roll up to smith and wollensky in his rolls when I was there
Pretty fun listen with some of the guys who have been developing this dump for the last 60 years. https://pca.st/episode/ae543095-829d-4d21-9604-33539b88d52f
Just picked up fajitas for 3 to go from el tiempo on Richmond. In addition to normal charges for the food, there also was a $6 ‘convenience charge’ for the to go order. Had been a while since we picked up from there, think this charge was new. That said, do you guys normally tip on top of something like that? I still did, but the guy basically made it sound like it was an easier way to charge a minimum tip to balance out folks who don’t tip on to go orders
Yeah, with the additional tip it was just right at between 9 and 10%, but I almost went grumpy old man and not tip anything over the ‘convenience charge’
The one on navigation has never charged to-go orders but it's been a few months since I've eaten there so it may be a new thing. I usually tip a couple bucks on takeout but I wouldn't if they charged a fee. And fuck $6 wasn't already 9-10% of your order?
Must’ve been like rounding up around 10% (it was 71 and some change w/ tax and the convenience charge) or maybe like $2 per ‘item’ (since we had fajitas for 3). I know some other places have a small added charge for to go orders, such as Barnabys (at least they did at one point, not sure if they still do), but not this much. Regardless, it was a little odd and certainly a surprise, probably won’t tip on top next time, although we really don’t go or get it that much these days with 2 young kids who prefer other types of food more.
Closing on a house soon. As a white couple in their early 30s, were hoping to kickstart the gentrification of the heights.
Kids? You’ll enjoy it. As a 29 yr old (I bought at 26) I wish I was in Montrose, but im happy with my appreciation over the last two years as well.
Hit up Calle Once on 11th today for a late lunch/brunch. Drinks were great, hickory smoked oysters were as well. Little bit pricey for the area IMO with relation to portion, but I would return
No kids yet but zoned to Harvard Elementary, which was a big factor for us. Hoping this is just the first time they attend a Harvard school.
Gonna be in the galleria area Friday night. Cool places to eat/drink? Not looking for anything fancy dinner wise
