Posted in the food thread but got this curbside from BB’s today. They offer curbside booze as well. 5lbs for $25 and pick your own add ins.
miss my monthly trips to Houston. Was really starting to get to know some different areas. With oil in the shitter who knows when I'll be able to get travel approved again.
All the places here have curbside. Hell, you can get paper towels and toilet paper at BB’s as well. They do a curbside hurricane where they give you 2 bottles of rum and a gallon of their hurricane mix. Prolly get another local one next weekend.
I’ve never had Viet-Cajun butter tossed crawfish. I’ve had LA Crawfish but just got the regular ones. We got the Tex-Orleans seasoning on these and it tastes like a normal seasoning with some chipotle. I ordered some on the side to see what they were fucking with. My favorite still is Ragin Cajun. I just like their seasoning and their bugs are soaked in them. I know that they boil them in it and not just season after the boil. Best I’ve ever had is Louisiana crawfish time in Lafayette, LA. I will return there when the world is right again. BB’s had the best deal that we’ve found per pound.
I’m thinking I’m going to the protest tomorrow. Told my parents and they practically pleaded with me not to go. No they’re not trumpers.
I’d definitely mask up and still try to social distance if possible. Covid didn’t just up and go away. It’s the same at protests as it was at Memorial Day gatherings. Edit: it’s also about who you could spread the virus to as well.
I am optimistic about the protests I have an awful feeling that a bunch of people are going to be out there without masks and touching a million people and corona is going to spread like wildfire
My big worry as well. The city has kept it peaceful with minimal looting, relative to other larges cities and hopefully that continues today. A lot of places boarded up including the entire river oaks shopping center. We got an email from our building to leave by 2 from the office downtown yesterday but they just changed that to Noon a few minutes ago, due to traffic reasons and street closures.
My wife works downtown and she’s leaving at noon I’m closing my office in west u at noon too because all of my staff lives outside the beltway and I don’t want them to be stuck if highways get shut down
Admittedly I haven’t been able to keep up on the police response in every major city but art acevedo appears to be saying all the right things as far as I can tell
We are out at noon too. I am in downtown now and the Walker & Main area seems to have the most boarded up/damaged buildings. We will see what tomorrow brings...
I get the covid stuff and will be wearing a mask. I just can’t see this turning violent. The world is going to look at this and Acevedo has been great.
