Buy you one of those bad ass pellet guns hoss, one of my sister's husband has one that will shoot through a 55 gallon drum...and makes little to no noise at all...
They are sweet, and when I say go through a drum I mean in and out and still kicked up dust at 20 yards. Like if Anton Chigurgh had a pellet rifle...
It surely is, and I remember thinking wtf Benjamin ? But it's actually someone like Crossman or Daisy...can't remember for sure, it was Easter and we were heavy laden with spirits when he demo'd it.
If I had to live in town, I'd definitely invest. Out here you can hunt with a mini gun and zero fucks given. Cannons, such as the little 8 pounders have become quite popular now...sounds like the 1st morning of Gettysburgh out here on holidays...
There was a guy in my old zone who had a cannon and you coukd always tell when he'd been in the sauce because it sounded like the Spanish Armada was closing in. We'd get a dozen calls but he's retired PD, so we were always "unable to locate".
Yes Sir, and now fuckers can buy that tannanite shit or whatever, Brother there is nothing more deadly than drunk rednecks with explosives. On the 4th of July they packed an old truck frame with that shit to the hilt...just trying to see how much it would take to blow it up. I live among these momo's and at times they make me nervous.
Hell I liked Ol Jax before you said that... What old timer, didn't get to blow up enough shit in the Service ?
I didn't get to blow up shit in the service so I take out all my pent up frustration this way now lol.
I caught the wanderlust primarily because Grandpa and Pappa Ruffnek did. Still wasn't the srupidest thing I ever did (fucking last wife gets that ribbon). But I think perhaps it set the trend for 30 some odd years of not so bright things I did.
Just like we were talking about awallago, went out the back door to get some more firewood and it sounds like saving private ryan out there...
Thoughts in benelli? I'm looking at getting a new slug gun and I'm between the Winchester SX3 deer or a Benelli m2 with a rifled slug barrel.
little help..... anyone ever go elk hunting out west? My dad is retiring and I want to get him that s a retirement gift. I'm thinking a guided hunt, but open to suggestions. He's fairly experienced hunter, but has never been elk hunting and mentioned it a while back. any advice or suggestions are appreciated.
What's your budget? If you haven't already, look into guided hunts in New Mexico. You get a lot of bang for your buck there.
I am thinking it's going to be in the $3-4K range for a 7 day guided hunt. So that's what I had in mind. If I can get a better deal I'm open to it. I want him to go for the experience, not just to collect a trophy and meat.
If you've got the money to burn, go for it. But if it's only going to be a slug gun, check and see if they make a rifled slug barrel for the shotgun you already have. Just make sure you take the time to try different slugs with your new gun or barrel. When I got my rifled slug barrel for my 870, I got 3 different types of slugs and all three shot dramatically different. With the Hornady SSTs, I wasn't even hitting the 4' x 4' plywood at 75 yards. I finally settled on the Winchester Partition Gold and was able to put every shot into a paper plate at 75 yards.
cheap, good slug gun - H&R Ultra Slug Hunter. No frills, no thrills, for $300, and gets the job done out to 100 yards. If I were dropping bigger money on a slug gun I'd look at the Browning A-bolt.
GOP House Moves Against Public Lands on Its Opening Day BY BOB MARSHALL 1 HOUR AGO Courtesy BLM/Bob Wick It didn’t take long for the GOP Congress to tell sportsmen how serious it is about giving away our national public lands. Yesterday, on its first day in session, the House amended a rule to make it easier to justify transfer of ownership to states, by changing the way it calculates the financial cost of the move to the nation. The change passed 233–190, largely on party lines, with the GOP overwhelmingly in favor. Although President-elect Donald J. Trump and his nominee for Secretary of Interior, Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke, have publicly opposed such transfers, this change doesn’t require presidential approval. Key GOP lawmakers, such as House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Bob Bishop of Utah, have been strong supporters of giving states larger control over the federal lands that belong to all Americans. Under the rule that had been in place for years, any costs to the nation of such transfers—including loss of property value—would have to be offset by cuts in federal spending elsewhere. That is no longer a concern for those seeking to take national lands for state, or even private, management or ownership. A statement that Rep. Raul Grijalva (D–N.M.) gave the Washington Post probably best sums up sportsmen’s objections: “The House Republican plan to give away America’s public lands for free is outrageous and absurd. “This proposed rule change would make it easier to implement this plan by allowing the Congress to give away every single piece of property we own, for free, and pretend we have lost nothing of any value. Not only is this fiscally irresponsible, but it is also a flagrant attack on places and resources valued and beloved by the American people.” Backcountry Hunters and Anglers president and CEO Land Tawney didn’t hesitate letting Congress know how his group feels about the move. “Some of our elected officials are wasting no time in paving the way to steal our outdoor heritage,” Tawney said in a statement. “If it’s a fight they want, they’ve got one coming.”
-Resource extraction -Reckless disregard for wildlife conservation -herp derp anything government is bad
Yeah I mean aside from the first one I honestly don't understand what they expect to actually gain from it.
It's a mixture of having something to gain and also an ideological thing. It's like those idiots that sided with the Oregon BLM trespassers. Anything federal government is bad.
That's why the last election was pry bad. No matter what side you're on, having no checks and balances is bad.
