I meant like metals. I thought I read something about us doing it during some war in Alaska and we made a snowstorm happen or something.

 

Couldn't resist your lob. I'll leave it to the experts, but I can't imagine cloud seeding would do much either way with systems of this magnitude.

it's not a tornado man. This is a 50+ mile wide hurricane. You can't manually slow it down.

 

Every single model was wrong from only 24 hours ago. Current position wasn’t even in the 24 hour cone. Shows you how hard this is to predict.

Will never forget hurricane Floyd. It was supposed to batter south florida with apocalyptic strength. It was supposed to hit in the middle of the night and turned at the last second. The models from 12 hours prior were wrong. Instead of waking up to destruction, we woke up to a couple palm fronds in the pool. Unfortunately North Carolina suffered the wrath of that one.

Obviously a lot has changed in 20 years, but still

 

Way too early to make any proclamations. Keys to North Carolina or even no landfall at all still options this far out.

 

I think someone is going to get completely surprised by where this storm goes. Whether it pulls an Andrew and goes due west into South Florida or skirts north into Jacksonville/ Georgia. Hopefully models consolidate soon so that area can prepare properly.

 

48 hours is about when we will really know.

Except it was bought up by 10% of the population. I stopped and grabbed a case of water this morning and people had carts loaded down.

 

Yeah I picked some up early this morning in Tampa. Not because I think I will need it but because everywhere runs out because people get 6 months-year worth of water and do dumbass shit when this happens.

 

That's why I only got one. We have a few at home, but I wanted to see if there was chaos at the stores already.

Also trying to now fly from NYC to MCO Saturday night instead of what was surely going to be a cancelled flight on Monday.

Yea. Time to start prepping, but the time to start panicking is when it's 48 hours out and that cone of death is narrow as fuck and still right over you.

 

That is amazingly similar to Katrina...and a terrifying thought for the gulf coast
