I hated driving over that bridge before this.
T's and P's with everyone impacted by the hurricane. I never experienced anything as bad as Katrina living in Florida, but Mathew and Irma(iirc) sucked ass. Most stressful shit ever.
I remember when Ivan took out big chunk of the i10 bridge outside of Pensacola and how much of a cluster fuck that was.
You know they are hauling ass that way this morning
I don’t even think it rained where we are in Houston.
Was the storm surge in Lake Charles nowhere near as bad as expected?
Links to live feeds this morning?
What about those crazy bridges going out to Key West that basically float on the water...seems like those would get damaged regularly

Forecasters wrong again! So much for "global warming"!
This is why you can’t trust everything the media says about the coronavirus

Trump: I demand the local authorities arrest her now! LAW AND ORDER!
I was really hoping she'd take the name off Jefferson Davis parish while at it

Damn, they had the path exactly nailed as soon as the tropical storm left Haiti, and knew it would be major as soon as it left Cuba so intact.
So they are 50/50 on the last two hurricanes
I just had the realization that Lake Charles is the same distance inland from the gulf as I am from the Atlantic. Every time a storm comes this way I tell people, “nah, we’ll be fine, we’re far enough inland it won’t be as bad as if we were on the coast. Yeah well, if that storm had come at us, our shit would have definitely been mixed
It’s all about height above sea level. On the gulf, a lot of these towns are at or below sea level so the storm surge will reach much further than on the Atlantic side.
East coast also has barrier islands — not sure about gulf
And the Gulf is an energy sink
Some parts do - we have quite a few along the Texas coast, not sure about our neighbors to the east though
What's your sea level?
