I am not familiar with this map. Are the numbers in hours? If so, it's parked right on top of me in 5/6 days?
looks like it will dissipate. ill guess the one in the gulf right now starts trending eastward. the new euro sort of suggests that - and they almost always do anyway.
Yes, hours. Each line is a different model. It's mainly gonna be a rain maker, but the impacts don't appear to be great for NC. With this so much can change though
Have done absolutely no research but I would imagine the gulf temps are not all that conducive to hurricanes. It's been relatively cool this year compared the past couple years I feel like. Now, after typing this out, I'm probably going to be completely wrong. Also, I'll never understand why people say we are "due for a big one". Fuck you buddy and quit making my relatives nervous. EDIT: I'm sure there are a lot of alternative facts associated with this liberal fake news https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...which-could-mean-explosive-springtime-storms/
Ha yeah we had one of the warmest winters of all-time, if not the warmest. The water will always be warm enough, it just depends on others factors if theyll develop. Mid-gulf surface temps are already in the mid 80s.
See edit Also, I was somewhat basing it off my pool water that has been dick shrinkin cold which is abnormal for this time of year. Pool water =/= Gulf of Mexico water I guess.
Scroll up and read the alabamawx article. Sea temp is 2 degrees above what is needed but some conductive heat isnt great
this is honestly maybe just the 3rd biggest rain maker along the gulf coast in the past month. of course that is why this one is a pain in the ass.
lomcevak do tropical systems just repeatedly throw out boundary lines causing the continous rain shields? In other words, what mechanically is happening up in the atmosphere? I guess we generally deal with fronts and random convections here so seeing giant rain shields isnt very common here
Dude I got plans to take a yacht to the keys and stay at the nicest house you've ever seen with bitches and blow. You're goddamn right it does.

Surf is pretty wild in the outer banks. Got off the beach probably about a half hour before it was going to be impassable. Lots of folks were still out there partying. Glhf.
I'm not too impressed with that invest right now. Lot of shear out ahead of the system from Florida to Hispanola.
That will be insane for a city like Houston that already has major flooding issues with normal storms. Also New Orleans needs to be on alert too with their recent flooding. A couple of inches of rain keeps the water around, not to mention what happens if the convection moves east towards Louisiana.
Yeah read an article yesterday that said New Orleans is developing evac plans in case of rain because they haven't fixed the most recent flooding problems. http://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/news/article_c2b40bd4-85ee-11e7-af72-23bae8c5c4a6.html
