Watching people convince themselves this is great is so awful. Bob Knight coaching tree, even though I don’t recall him being a Knight assistant. They settled or were told no by any viable option, pure and simple.
They said there’s a chance the DC assistant that was just hired stays on. The staff better be star recruiters. I don’t think I coached Allan Houston is gonna sell in homes. I have no idea if he coached Allan Houston
High school seniors were in second grade when Watford beat Kentucky. That was the last time IU was remotely relevant.
The group I had season tickets with drew student section seats for that game. Started camping at like 4:30 and still ended up in about the 11th or 12th row. Such a surreal experience. We were actually in a bad spot in terms of rushing the court because security were able to slow/stop people from jumping down from the main student section and then there were 30ish rows of people behind us rushing down so I watched in awe from like the 3rd row of the student section.
I gave my tickets to a buddy who had gone to IU undergrad and then Kelley MBA, because I was coaching BNHS in a wrestling tournament that day, and didn't think I'd be home in time to go to the game. Unfortunately for me, I made it back in time, and instead watched it at Roy's -- which was still amazing in it's own right, and is one of my top 2-3 favorite experiences as a student.
MSOC game vs UMD has been canceled, which sucks because I was looking forward to shutting their asses out but that means we're officially regular season B1G champs and that is three straight league titles and 15 overall in program history one of the best programs in college athletics history
Either way glad they beat Michigan and clinched another Conf. title but would have been nice to see them play Penn State and Maryland. At least they get to host throughout the conference tourney now (assuming there is one)
this is pretty damn awesome and I would like to funnel some money to him once the NIL rules go into play
it'd be really nice to see a black guy do well at a big program like IU, so hoping it works and gonna try to be positive going forward
yeah as a FW guy I was really hoping he'd end up in Bloomington (and then wrote him off as dead when he chose Kentucky)
He’ll be a legit playmaking guard. It’s a good get. They have tons of roster spots, I wouldn’t be shocked if they end up with Brooks and another transfer or two.
With Lander back and Johnson now on board is there a chance Phinisee is the odd man out if Franklin decides to return?
Even if Franklin doesn’t return (which I hope he does), I think the days of Phinisee as the primary ball handler are over. Woodson said he wants to play at a faster pace and Rob is genuinely incapable of doing that. He’s a pretty solid defender, so he’ll still get minutes but he should just be practicing as many catch and shoot threes as he can this offseason. Edit: I realized I phrased that weird, I hope Franklin comes back to IU.
Race back. Latest on Armaan seems like he’s trending towards Virginia. If that happens, I’d guess they’d try to add another wing. Galloway and Leal left quite a bit to be desired there last year, but maybe they’ll be better.
Good, I guess? Other than TJD it’s hard to get too excited about seeing the same guys that finished 11th or whatever in league and have missed the tourney 4 straight years return
The way I see it they werent blown out that often and led in so many games before the Archie collapse, so if Woodson is an upgrade in coaching this team will be fine.
this team is loaded with talent but that talent wasn't being maximized with the god damn packline and that boring, antiquated "offense" archie insisted on running. add in that transfer from pitt and you got a stew cooking.
